Great location and a very impressive building however the decor remains stuck in the 1950s which is perfectly functional but not quite as expected for a luxury hotel.

The views from this hotel are second to none and the access to the lake is wonderful. The private deck and boats are a great addition. Breakfast was really good and plentiful. The driveway and gardens are beautiful to spend time in.
The rooms and corridors are a bit tired looking, and I would have thought for the price we paid - they would have been better.

The hotel sits in a large private park surrounded by trees and grass, and although it shows signs of age, it is well maintained.
The hotel offers a very quiet, calm atmosphere, spacious and elegant interiors, and spectacular views of Lake Bled and the island from the rooms.
A very nice and rich breakfast.
Great location - away from the busy center, yet less than a five-minute drive to town.
The room furniture and interior are a bit run-down, albeit they preserve the elegance of old times.

Incredible view and grounds, great facilities and access to the lake. Wonderful breakfast.
Central a/c would have been great but the ceiling fans and standing fans made the room comfortable.

The location and the view. Parking was included and they let us park several hours before check in, which was very convenient. The breakfast was included and had a great selection. We also got to use one of their row boats free for an hour.
Room 101, right next to the steps and elevator. It also faced the front with all the runway lights. The bathtub sides are about 27" high, which makes ingress/egress very difficult, not exactly a lot to hold onto. Plus the bottom of the tub is slippery.

The location is incredible hard to beat, the private jetty makes it very beautiful.
The desk staff are not very accommodating or helpful, had to deal with our own luggage trolley and there seems to be no concern with guest service. The one morning we had to enjoy breakfast- the garden staff was trimming hedges loudly and incessantly- no one managed this.

The hotel is perfectly located on the edge of Lake Bled, overlooking the famous island and church. The rooms are spacious and comfortable, with a dining terrace with spectacular views out onto the lake, all with a wonderful ‘faded communist grandeur’!
Aircon in the rooms would help in the unusually high temperatures we experienced.

This property is in a lovely location. The view from the room and the terrace is the lake and the island in the middle of the lake with the church. The staff were very helpful. It was on a quiet part of the lake.
I didn’t realize that there was no air conditioning in the rooms as it was a historic property. It was hot. They gave us a fan. It did cool down in the night with the windows open.

What makes it even more special is the history: once a royal residence and presidential retreat, you can feel the soul of the property in every corridor. It carries its legacy beautifully while offering the comforts of a refined modern stay.
The rooms are incredibly spacious, elegant, and comfortable—far larger than expected, with a quiet grandeur that matches the estate itself.
The manager and team were exceptional—warm, polished, and deeply attentive, making the entire stay feel personal and seamless.
The restaurant deserves special recognition: truly Michelin-level in quality, execution, and setting. Dining on the terrace overlooking the lake and island church was one of the highlights of our European journey.
Private lake access, swimming, and complimentary rowing boat use make the experience even more magical—something almost impossible to find elsewhere.
Villa Bled is not just a hotel. It is history, beauty, and atmosphere woven into one unforgettable place. A privilege to experience.
