The quietness of the room was excellent and quieter than I expected, considering the holiday period. We were generously given a upgrade. The amenities were abundant and better than expected.
We requested our room to be cleaned once and we're disappointed as the toilet paper wasn't changed and there were additional tissues and dirty cups left behind. Generally a slightly older hotel for price.

I stayed here for 5 days. The room itself was fine, but the service was absolutely terrible. The drinking glasses at the breakfast buffet were extremely dirty — some even still had watermelon juice left in them, clearly unwashed. I picked up about 10 glasses, and every single one was filthy (photos attached — and these aren’t even the worst ones).
The front desk staff were completely disorganized in giving information. I booked a full board package with 3 meals a day. One day, I came back late around 3 p.m. and asked the receptionist about my meals. He told me that lunch was already over, but I could have dinner “anytime”. I double-checked with him because I had to leave again at 6 p.m. Later, when I went to the restaurant at 5 p.m., they told me they only start serving at 5:30.
I went back to the front desk to clarify, and another female receptionist told me the same thing — dinner starts at 5:30. I asked her to please double-check since I was previously told otherwise and needed to eat early. A few minutes later, another male staff member came out, spoke to me very rudely, and said that dinner actually starts at 6:30. When I asked again to confirm, he replied in a disrespectful tone that it’s “6:30, exactly.”
I was so frustrated. I went back to the restaurant around 5:15, and they told me they could actually prepare food for me right then!
This hotel is operated under an international brand, yet the level of service is shockingly poor and completely unacceptable.

Housekeeping staff ( a young Chinese lady servicing the 10th floor ) was most pleasant and helpful. Additionally, a Malay gentleman ( Faizal ? ) was also very helpful in securing my family and I a much needed late-check out till 1pm on our date of departure which was greatly appreciated. The chefs at Asian counter were extremely warm and hospitable too. Sorry - didn't get to see their name badges but one was seemingly a more senior chef who offered to make two bowls of chicken noodles for me and my pregnant wife during breakfast.
Didn't like the pillow - especially the squarish ones ( they were so thin that they practically didn't serve any support during our sleep ). The light controls are badly designed too - didn't allow for selective switching on/off with certain lights - it's' one of those 'all or nothing' scenario where you either get to light up the entire room when I'm trying to answer nature's call in the wee early morning hours and risk waking up my wife when trying to get just the toilet lights on or not have any lights to guide you to the washroom. Didn't enjoy the room service dinner that we ordered - two out of three dishes were badly prepared ( fried rice tasted bland, char kway teow didn't taste anything like what it ought to taste like and all accompanying salad were dry and shriveled - like they were leftovers from lunch. )

The location
The staff were racist, and inept at their jobs. They put a twin sized duvet on a kind sized bed, when I complained they said they would correct it after their supervisor checked to make sure it was the wrong size. That took 1/2 a day and repeated trips to the front desk to speak with Mark. He was standoffish, rude, and dismissive. Their Indian staff were incredibly rude to me at every interaction and as I waited in line they called other people in front of me.

Staff was very friendly. Rooms are not very big but comfy. Breakfast offers a lot of different kinds of food. The two pools and the free 24h gym are a real plus and enjoyable.
The hotel is located quite close to Orchard area (20mn waking). There is a bus stop just in front of it, which is practical. There is also free car park.
On the ground floor you can find a 7/11 and different restaurants for all kinds of budget.
This Novotel (and the Mercure, which I also tried) is perfect to spend time there and relax, as a staycation. I already stayed twice there and I will certainly do it again in the future.
The wifi can be a bit slow sometimes, especially around 8pm-10pm.

The room was very clean and comfortable, Good location and wonderful breakfast. The reception was extremely helpful. Coffee was lovely. lots of places to eat and a shop nearby was a bonus.
We didn't like the loud music in the foyer on arrival after a long flight and being very tired. Room was a little small.

Pretty much everything else. The hotel is under renovation, they nickle and dime you, they dont clean your room daily, and the staff is clueless. They didnt even take our bags to our room. For the price point its a joke.

The facilities are good. The breakfast is full of options, and very complete and comfortable for a western. The pool is great.
Cleaning was really an issue. I used the button to indicate that my room needs cleaning since the first day and it wasn't cleaned. On the last day, I asked the cleaning service through the QR code and I indicated the time. After getting back to my room at the end of the day, the room wasn't cleaned. It only got clean during the evening at the end of my stay (I checked out 6h30 in the morning). It was really disappointing that such a basic service of a hotel was such a problem, especially for a big hotel chain like Novotel that belongs to Accor.

I just didn’t like the fact that we had to pay extra bucks to upgrade to a room with a king size bed, wherein our original booking said that the room we booked had a king size bed.
