Exceptional
Nostalgia Hotel may not have the latest and most modern hotel amenities but it has a charm all its own that matches its name. Its location is away from the hustle of downtown Singapore but it is a few short meters from a subway stop that gets you anywhere. The neighbourhood has lots of reasonable priced eateries, is close to a small shopping enclave and is charming.
The windows could use some cleaning.

Exceptional
This hotel was very comfortable and there is a nice, relaxed local feel to the area. Situated in a great location--it was next door to a bus stop and a very short walk to the MRT (metro) station, with two other stations also a very walkable distance. We took the MRT from the airport rather than the high priced taxis. It is also close enough to walk to Chinatown. We chose the King bed room in order to have a bit more space and it was perfect. Singapore hotel prices are astronomically high (3 times the price of neighbouring Malaysia) and this hotel provided good value. The bed was super comfy and had nice pillows. The a/c runs very cold. Lots of hot water in the shower for your mornings. The staff were very friendly and competent.

The location was great, the size of the room was very small for two persons. There wasn't enough space for luggage.
No room for luggage or mobility equipment eg. Walker needed to be stored outside of room.

While small like everything in Singapore, the room was still of decent size. Staff was friendly and amicable, enjoyed chatting with them and getting tips. Nice little pool. Nice center with busy and affordable local food stalls next door.
No major downsides. While it's not the most central place ever, there's an MRT train station 5 minutes away and most places are 15 min by taxi/Grab.

Wonderful
Lovely little hotel in Tiong Bahru, a quiet but vibrant and historic neighborhood with great food and transit links. We had a great time staying here to explore the city, and loved that it was right across the street from an iconic hawker center. Staff were courteous and kind, and our room was clean and quiet.
Rooms are quite small and basic, but that's to be expected in Singapore!

Nice little touches like complimentary coffee machine in the lobby, granting early check in (after requesting in advance), loaning a power plug adapter for converting my non-Singapore charger plug. Very quiet rooms - sound proofing blocked all traffic noise through my large 2nd floor window. Room was so quiet during the night. Excellent room ventilation through bathroom vent so that I could switch off airconditioner and fan while I'm my room. Optional request for daily room service (the default is no daily room service). Complimentary coffee and tea in room and water boiler plus thick and plush large bathroom towels and nice bed and pillows. Nice location as well with bus-stops outside hotel going to Orchard road (bus #16) and to Sentosa island (bus #123), where I commuted daily for a conference, and a brisk 10 minute walk to Tiong Bahru metro train station going to the airport (about 45 minutes). Overall, good value compared to others in the same price range.
Room size is ok for one person. Table space is small with single small desk and shelf (both mounted to the wall) and small night table. Window can't be opened but room ventilation through bathroom vent is fine without it and window soundproofing blocked traffic noise so it was fine. Room fridge is mounted to the wall is narrow width, enough to fit bottles, but it worked well. Soundproofing is superb for blocking street noise but not hallway noise, including slamming room doors, but the hotel was quiet during my 4 night stay so it was fine. The TV was missing power plug adapter for plugging into Singaporean power socket but a converter could have been provided if requested.

location to MRT and Tiong Bahru Market Quiet room
I travel alone so the room size is okay with me as I don't have big luggage, but if there were 2 people it would be a bit of a squeeze with luggage. I'm not sure there is anything you can do about that though & I will continue travelling alone.

Great location across road from a food hall, restaurants all around very short walk to train station which was very easy to use. Room was very small with the bed against the wall which made it hard for one person to get in and out but was very clean and a good price for Singapore. Was good to have a pool and free coffee in the foyer was great.

The location is great - there are some super places nearby to eat and the access to public transport is really good. The staff were friendly and helpful, the room was clean and comfortable and our requests for a quieter room were met.
As with all hotels in Singapore, you always pay a premium and we limited our stay due to the cost. It would be nice to see more affordable options, or the ability to reduce the per night charge for guests who choose to stay longer.

Very Good
I enjoyed my superior room with Conor windows with sunlights. The small outdoor swimming pool is nice with sunlights . The hotel FOC coffee machine makes the guests feel warm.

The pool is great, the staff are lovely, bed is comfy, location is good (near to the MRT, though I chose the location to do on foot but just used MRT in the end so next time wouldn't worry how close to main attractions it was), shower great and powerful and clean.
The room is TINY. Couldn't help but feel a pang of disappointment as I opened the door. The hotel is lovely and I guess in many ways it is a 4 Star place but when you open the door and see how small it the room is, plus the fact my window wasn't actually a see through window and made the room feel essentially windowless, which is a bit depressing, then it's hard to feel it's a 4 Star hotel. For ehat it is, it's fantastic, you should just ser your expectations accordingly - its not a flash place with room to move (can just about open a suitcase in there) but for a good, clean place to stay with a cool pool, it's great.
