GoodWood Park Hotel High quality rest at the heritage gem in the heart of the prestigious area of Singapore Experienced enough I know that choosing a hotel within a heritage building is normally a lottery - you either will have a shabby hut (authentic though) or the property may be redesigned so that it’s hard to feel any historical context (exterior apart) But what they achieved at The GoodWood Park Hotel is almost unbelievable- it’s a gorgeous property, with truly long history, placed in the park, on the hill, and it offers a full scale of 5 star hotel services, so you constantly feel yourself a VIP guest in the exotic faraway land that you saw only in the movies. The renovation was done not long ago, everything inside is fresh and cozy, functional, high end technologically advanced and at the same time - keeps the vintage aesthetic- whether it’s a sofa or a clay pot with a palm tree. But what I loved most of all - resort type of accommodation. To deeply appreciate it, you need to stay for at least 5 days. So you calm down completely within these gorgeous views, green park outside your window, and having 2 splendid pools at your door. It’s practically hard to believe there’s a bustling Orchard district down the hill, there’s busy Singapore packed with tourists from all over the world. Here you’ll find peace, quietness, beauty. They have a list of cafes and restaurants so you may browse from one for breakfast to another for afternoon tea and then for dinner to the bar and also there’s a choice between cuisines - Thai, Japanese or Chinese. The room is spacious, well decorated, thoughtfully planned, I had a bathtub and a balcony with the garden view, it brought me so much joy to watch unseen bright feathers birds and squirrels.. One of the key features here - you’ll get 6 (!!!) packs of TWG tea daily. Do you know it’s the top tea brand in Singapore and did you see tourists with that bags buying TWG tea as a luxury present at a high price?

On my recent visits, I have been staying at Goodwood Park due to the unbeatable location. I wish to express particular appreciation for the services of "Liss" at the front desk. Liss performs her duties in an outstanding manner. She is an asset to the hotel.

Pretty low value for money. Service was average. When asking for cart in rain to come to reception, waited 30mins and they still hadn't sent, then they forgot so walked instead.

Very comfortable and friendly staff! Hotel is well maintained, in good shape and seems to be renovated recently. Amenities in the room are good. There are several restaurant options which are really worth it. Perfect location on walking distance near two metro stations, bus stop and the ION mall.
The AC in the bedroom needed a filter cleaning as it was not working properly due to dust buildup.

The room was great. Nice size and great refurbishment since the last time I stayed here. Location good- far enough away from Orchard Road but easy to walk to. Pool areas terrific.
I requested a ground floor room (preferably onto a courtyard) as i was staying 5 days and intended spending a lot of the time at the hotel. I chose the hotel because of the pool areas. I was given a 3rd floor room with no real windows. (the hotel- for some reason has put frosted glass panels over all the windows overlooking the drive-in). It looks impressive when driving up, but awful when you get into the room.

It’s an historical property, way older than me. And normally it’s call “old” yeah literally old buildings… Staying there more likely gosh buster experience rather than historical experience!

After a long journey from Europe (on our way to Jakarta) we decided to take 2 nights in Singapore. The Goodwood was a brilliant choice. Originally I chose it because it isn't high-rise, and this is something we really appreciated when we got there. It was just nice to have ground level pools surrounded by normal height buildings, even though some high-rise buildings could be seen. In addition the staff were wonderful, very helpful and friendly, everything is immaculately clean, the breakfasts were delicious with a wide selection of food, and the location near Orchard Ion mall meant the shopping is excellent. For sightseeing the mall is over a MRT station so it's easy to get around. Would definitely return.
Some of the building was undergoing renovation so we didn't get to see the whole thing. This didn't affect our stay at all but it would have been interesting to see more of the old part.
