This hostel is housed in a refurbished 1800s prison building, on the central Stockholm island of Långholmen. In green surroundings, it offers a restaurant, a shared kitchen and free Wi-Fi and parking. STF Långholmen Hostel’s rooms have a private bathroom or shared facilities. Some rooms include a TV. In summer, guests can unwind on the grounds. Other facilities include rental bikes and reserved washing machines and dryers. Beautifully renovated and designed to keep the prison vibe. Fab staff, great breakfasts. Loved the lake to swim in outside the front door and the kitchen garden restaurant. Enjoyed the hotel bikes to explore Soderhsmn. Great cooking facilities. Just all fab for us 2 adults 2 kids 11 and 14.
Kept banging our heads on bunks. Look up!

I didn’t like the lack of sound proofing, I could hear doors slamming really loudly from my bed (cell 7). To the extent that it would wake me up regularly.

Good location, 24/7 reception, good rooms, comfortable beds, nice shower, clean.
For a hostel it is on the expensive side, but you do get all the good things though.

It is very cool to sleep in a former prison! The place is decorated in a way to remind us of the history of the area, and there is even a small museum accessible to the guests. The staff is extremely nice and helpful, and we were very happy they recommended us to pay an extra for the buffet breakfast, which was exquisite.
You are paying for an experience--the rooms are small to the point where I would not suggest staying here for more than 1 or 2 nights, especially since they did not come that cheap (especially counting the breakfast add-on).

It is a very interesting concept of make use of an old prison as a hostel. At first it felt creepy but then I loved the concept. The room was clean, soundproofing and the bed quite comfy. Breakfast was good
The cells are quite small so there is no space for luggage or in general move around. Also it was a bit too warm at night as we couldn't open the window all the way through

The hostel is very clean. The staff is friendly. We especially loved the bed linen. The showers and the toilets were very clean and roomy. We loved the huge kitchen with the whole equipment. The whole hostel is a museum and it's absolutely worth every penny.
Everything is great. Maybe only the fact that you need to walk a bit to get to a metro station.

It is a very good hotel with a different atmosphere since it is an old prison. Breakfast was fantastic, one of the best breakfast in Europe between the hotel i’ve stayed till today. The location is a bit far, but has a very lovely walking from Gamla Stan for about 45 minutes, also you can always take the metro, but i walked everyday. The area is a bit dark while walking after you got into the hotel’s road, but it feels safe.
I understand the thing about in Sweden sheets, towels etc have an extra fee, but at least we shouldn’t handle to put them to the bed. Also when we rent the towel, it’d be good it come with a hand towel and also maybe a towel for the bathroom floor. During the four nights i’ve stayed, my room haven’t been cleaned even onced, i also didn’t request but the day i came was rainy and my luggage carried some earth to the room and they stayed there while i was staying. Even i just wanted to tell these, it was a really good experience to stay at that hotel.
