Located on Skeppsholmen Island in Stockholm, this STF hostel is a former navy barrack called Hantverkshuset. Moderna Museum and East Asia Museum within walking distance. The guest rooms are located in the main building featuring large windows, high ceiling and views of the water or park. Some rooms have private bathrooms and some include access to shared bathroom facilities. Guests can enjoy a traditional Swedish breakfast buffet. The on-site café serves light meals. The hostel was well set up, with several comfortable common spaces, the rooms were basic, but comfortable and very clean. There were plenty of restrooms and showers available even though it was sold out for my stay, I never waited and the spaces were always tidy. It was wonderfully quiet out on the small island, a lovely escape from the hustle and noise of the city yet so close to every site.

Very clean and excellent location! Our twin. room was large enough with a sink. staff was helpful with travel tips. Modern bathrooms and showers. Breakfast buffet was excellent for $13.50. We liked our room was on floor 1with minimal stairs.
Thick comforters were too warm and other blankets were not available.

Great location very close to all the main sights in Stockholm but in a really peaceful spot. Very quiet at night but still safe to walk around. Everything was so clean, the kitchen and seating area were very comfortable and the cafe/bar downstairs was very convenient. Excellent!
I stayed in the 6 bed female dorm and while the beds were very comfortable I think if there were curtains around the beds it would be even better. When staying in a dorm everyone is getting up/going to bed at different times and the lights can be annoying. Other than that there was nothing to complain about.

Very clean and comfortable hostel - I had the single room to myself. Having a sink inside the room was really useful, and the location is fantastic. My room had a lovely view towards the waterfront, which was definitely a highlight of the stay.
- You have to make your own bed with the provided linen, which I didn't realise beforehand, although it wasn't a big deal once I understood. - I stayed on a Sunday night and there was fairly loud music and bass coming from across the island for a few hours. It seemed to be a weekend thing, but it was noticeable inside my room.

Location on the water. Beautiful view of old town from the patio.
The price for a private room was somewhat expensive, but Sweden is costly. It would be really nice if hallways were grouped into family rooms and non-family rooms, as I heard a lot of noise from kids in the rooms next to mine. (Rooms are not soundproof.) Also, the kitchen facilities, including refrigerator storage, are too small for the amount of guests. It was quite crowded and uncomfortable trying to prepare meals shoulder to shoulder with others.

The location was very central. Easy to get from Centralen by bus and only 20 minutes walk from Gamla Stan. At the same time it was very peaceful with a lovely view of the water.
