Located on Skeppsholmen Island in Stockholm, this STF hostel is a former navy barrack called Hantverkshuset. Moderna Museum and East Asia Museum within walking distance. The guest rooms are located in the main building featuring large windows, high ceiling and views of the water or park. Some rooms have private bathrooms and some include access to shared bathroom facilities. Guests can enjoy a traditional Swedish breakfast buffet. The on-site café serves light meals. There is also a shared kitchen where guests can prepare own meals. The Östasiatiska Museet Bus Stop is 492 feet from the hostel. The location is very good. Everything was nice and clean. The personell was (all) very nice. The breakfast is sufficient. It was also nice to have the café :-)
The breakfast room was very busy in the mornings, sometimes hard to find a table.

Location and the facilities provided. I'm most impressed by the staff at reception who works in the afternoon. He is well mannered, helpful and patient with the guest's requests and questions.
I was given a lower bed after I requested because I'm a senior. However, I do know that other elderly people were still given an upper bund bed after several pleas. What I don't understand is that a lower bed was empty and a 29 year old came the next day.

The best place to stay in Stockholm, this was our 4th time there. Great location, kind staff, good kitchen, very nice breakfast buffet and Cafe Skeppsholmen downstairs.

Really clean, fairly comfortable with good facilities. Useful area for dropping bags off before checking in.
I stayed in a female only dormitory but was quite surprised that the floor we were on was a mixture of genders and room types. The dormitory I was staying in had a communal area right outside. Although he was causing no harm, there was a man working in this area until late at night immediately outside my dorm room. Felt slightly uncomfortable walking to and from the bathroom in my pyjamas as a result. Just something for female solo travellers to consider - not something I have come across before in other hostels.
