Långholmen Hotell is in a 19th century prison building on Långholmen Island in Stockholm. It offers free parking and unique prison cell rooms with flat-screen cable TVs and free Wi-Fi access. An attractive atrium gallery dating from 1866 is situated in the middle of the complex. Stockholm's most captivating prison museum is open daily, and guided tours are given on weekends. The hotel is located in a relaxing park environment with jogging tracks. Långholmen Wärdshus Restaurant offers contemporary Swedish cuisine. The old prison entrance hall now houses a 24-hour cafe. The hotel is in a beautiful location - an island that is isolated enough to feel like you are in nature, yet close enough to be in the strict center in less than an hour's walk. The former prison has been fantastically adapted into a hotel, with a perfect breakfast and a charming beach almost right next to the entrance.
I could mention a few minor things, like the ladder to the upper bed was uncomfortable to climb up or down barefoot at night, or the hallways were a little stuffy, but overall this is one of the few hotels that exceeded my expectations.

Super unique hotel in a nature-rich place. The bathroom was big and the bed comfortable. The staff were nice.
The hotel is fair walk from the train station. Nothing impossible but it might be significant factor when the trip is short. While the theme was unique, the rooms were classic hotel rooms.

I was pleasantly surprised by what a luxurious hotel this turned out to be. The bunk beds, both bottom and top, were superbly comfortable. The bathroom was spacious and clean. The breakfast was exceptional. For how expensive everything is in Stockholm, this hotel really came in through and beat expectations. I'd stay here ten times over any other overpriced hotel or AirBnB in Stockholm. The surrounding park and river/lake also made it so we preferred walking to our destinations to pass through the beautiful scenery instead of relying on public transportation.

Breakfast was amazing. Would defo recommend this hotel for its location - a lot to see around and not your ''basic'' Stockholm experience! :)

Comforter was too heavy for summer but air too cool to not cover up some, would have liked at least a top sheet or light blanket rather than heavy down cover that left me soaked in sweat.

Charming, my tiny cell. Beautiful hotel. Great history. Superb breakfast, and dinner one night, with my nephew and niece, at tables/comfy chairs close to the restaurant. My nephew and niece shared a cell. They loved it, too.
Amusing that I am asked to rate the size of my room. That said, I had space to put my backpack. A chair and little desk. I liked everything.

Great location and vibe. Friendly and helpful staff. Great breakfast and dinner options in restaurant. Rooms are small but super comfortable and give that prison vibe. Worth staying!
