The island of Skepsholmen is like a leafy green ship nestled within Stockholm’s beautifully convoluted historic harbour; a perfectly unusual setting for a hotel, and a setting that Hotel Skepsholmen fully lives up to. Its configuration, two separate very long, very old and beautifully renovated barrack buildings placed end to end, is equally unusual. Staff are friendly and helpful, the dining area beautifully appointed, the breakfast bountiful and coming back to the hotel for dinner hard to resist. Wouldn’t think of staying anywhere else should we return to Stockholm.
Not enough rooms with tubs. They did manage to move us to a room with one for our last three nights, but we were lucky.

Lovely location. Other areas easily walkable on foot, but right next to a ferry stop too. Fabulous breakfast.
Lots of noise - sounded like constant furniture shuffling from the floor above. Turns out we were beneath an event / conference space. No apology forthcoming. The supposed sea view (that we paid more for) was a view of trees and the tennis court.

Excellent breakfast, wonderful peaceful location, quiet, comfortable and spacious room
Restaurant area rather cramped and became over-crowded during breakfast with people attending buffet style food and beverage. No separate bar or lounge area, so occasional seats up one end of the restaurant was not conducive to a bit of calm or space.

A bit crowded at breakfast! Better varieties of fruit and dried fruit, i.e. prunes. Eggs are well cooked! Would like some Danish pastires too!
