Check in time late I got my third suit by 8 PM although they promised me that I get adjacent room within 1/2 hour but after half hour they declined to gave the adjacent room they said it a bigger one and I have to wait for another 2 hour to get standard suite.

I stayed at voco with a friend during our F1 trip to Doha. I really like the location, and it’s an easy walk to DECC metro station. The service stood out the most. Staff were warm and genuinely helpful. We arrived very early and couldn’t check in yet, but the team offered us access to the spa so we could take a shower and freshen up. They also provided towels, slippers and toiletries as well, which felt really thoughtful after a long flight.
The lobby is clean, tidy and well-maintained. I love the small F1-themed podium they set up, and it’s a fun touch that tied in nicely with the current race weekend and added a bit of atmosphere. When we returned in the evening to check in, we were surprised with a complimentary upgrade to a suite. The room itself was very spacious, with a separate bedroom and living area plus a kitchen, which is ideal for a longer stay or anyone who likes extra space.
Although we didn’t try the main restaurant, the hotel cafe was a nice discovery. The fruit and baked goods were fresh, and the overall quality was better than I expected. During our stay, there was also a 25% discount, which made it an even better value.
You can tell that some of the facilities are a bit dated, and there is definitely room for an update in terms of decor and finishes. It doesn’t impact comfort, but a refurbishment in the future would help the property better match the level of service provided by the staff.
The vehicle drop off area at the main entrance is quite narrow. It feels cramped when cars are coming in and out, and particularly, it only allows one car to pass at a time. During busy periods, this might make arrivals and departures feel a bit congested. If the hotel ever renovated this area, widening the driveway or rethinking the flow would make a big difference to the first impression.

- Paid extra for a premium king room with sea view however the room I received is the same as the Studio Suite which is substantially cheaper. I enquired at reception , and despite not being happy with the room and showing pictures of the room style I booked, no apology or offer to change rooms. Don’t pay extra for premium.
- Swimming Pool staff not helpful , nobody there to collect towels, it is help yourself with no sign. Pool bar also closed.
- Turned on the sign for housekeeping on first morning at 8am. Nobody came until evening after following up three times
- Told at check in “breakfast is with your room and served in the restaurant”. Pleasant surprise as I didn’t think I had breakfast. I went to breakfast in the morning, was greeted for breakfast and my name and room ticked off the sheet. About 5 mins later , after filling my plate and getting coffee, lady runs over to me and states “just to let you know, you know breakfast isn’t included in your room rate ?”. They clearly made a mistake and when I spoke to front office, they told me they wouldn’t charge me as long as I didn’t go back in the restaurant seemingly oblivious to the fact it was their mistake .
- Service in lobby cafe ridiculously slow. The morning I checked out, I ordered a croissant; took 30 mins plus to arrive and had to chase a few times. I gave my room number. On check out no invoice provided to me to pay for it. I left something at reception for my friend in another room. They then contacted her to claim I had left without paying and charged it to her room. A complete lie to cover their incompetence. They only linked our rooms because I told the man when I was checking out my friend was staying in said room and could it be kept here for her to collect.
Due to issues hotel offered me a free breakfast for 2 next time I come to Doha. Unfortunately, good customer service would have ensured none of these issues happened in the first place.

The room and its facilities were extremely comfortable, especially the beds.
The breakfast and the varieties it offered were absolutely scrumptious.
The swimming pool was awesome, my family really enjoyed spending time in it.
It was very easy to order a taxi to anywhere, including to the West Bay City Centre Mall and of course the Airport.
The staff were exceptionally helpful, like Shaimae (from the Restaurant team), Hassan (from the Concierge team) and Vignesh (from the Reservations team). Apologies if I misspelled the names of any of you.
We had an issue with the reservation during check-in (not showing in the system), which I don't believe was the property's fault, but rather an issue at the Booking.com system.
However, the matter was quickly rectified in the morning with a very nice 'gesture/compliment' from the management. Thank you very much team!

Good breakfast and friendly, attentive staff at the restaurant who were eager to serve, (2) we liked the downtown location, though the nearest metro station is a good 15 minutes walk which can be taxing in the peak of summer.
Several things:
(1) When we checked in, we were not able to loc the door and had to call the hotel to get it fixed, (2) The bathroom was very small, with no fixtures to attach towels or clothes, it had a sliding door which would not close completely, and there was a foul smell in the bathroom probably coming from the plumbing, (3) although we reported the above problems, they were not resolved and the staff neither left a note stating that they were attended to nor did we receive a courtesy call to check if how things were, (4) The photos on booking.com look very neat and clean but the rooms are not all that neat. (5) During checkout, the front office staff checked how our stay was and we told them that we had the above problem, The staff said they would credit IHG reward points for the inconvenience but so far nothing has been credited to our account. Kindly address this matter with IHG.

Everything was fine and I enjoyed my short stay.
The reviews on the breakfast were really nice, however I found that it lacks the variety. The restaurant staff, atmosphere, and cleanliness were actually to the point. I like VOCO, and hope to stay again but with better quality of breakfast items.
