Wonderful
Fantastic boutique hotel that is an oasis in this big, busy city. There's a nice, small restaurant with delicious Paraguayan dishes and complimentary breakfast. They also have a great complimentary selection of herbal teas, along with hot or cold water, available any time. Very good selection of wines and spirits as well. There is a small swimming pool that is very clean, set in the well maintained garden area. This is a perfect spot for couples or solo travellers looking for something unique and very comfortable.
The in room refrigerator was a bit noisy, but we just turned the temperature down so it didn't run all of the time. Also there is very HOT water in the shower, we made sure to adjust the temperature before stepping into it.

Small, intimate hotel. Awesome service ( we had a medical issue and they found a doctor right away and as we did not have enough cash they paid and I reimbursed later with a CC). Breakfasts were tasty and abundant. Very clean. Very good dinner as well on a rainy night.

The room was large & comfortable. The hotel has a beautiful patio, pool, gym and tv area. There was an excellent selection of breakfast, lunch and dinner items available. The staff were very friendly & welcoming and were instrumental in helping us arrange the return of our cell phone that we left in an Uber. La Casona Hotel was a wonderful experience for my week in Asuncion! Staff was great, property has been really well cared for. Breakfast was prepared fresh to your order, wifi was super fast. Owner came by every day or so and was very nice man who, with his wife have put a lot of thought into making this a great small boutique hotel experience. Highly recommend!

The breakfast was fabulous- eggs to order; wonderful fresh fruit cocktail and juices; good toast and marmalade; great coffee; wonderful service. Other items that I ordered from the menu for dinner were very good and priced very reasonably. What makes this property stand out is the wonderful staff. They do a great job.
The bed was comfortable but most of the rest of the furniture was mostly made of wooden backs and seats with pillows which weren’t that comfortable. I thought that the rooms were a bit dated.

La Casona Hotel Boutique exceeded every expectation I had. Tucked away in the city yet incredibly peaceful, it truly felt like an oasis. The atmosphere was calm and serene, with beautiful spaces to rest — even hammocks to lounge in — and a sense of hospitality that is increasingly rare to find.
The kindness of the staff is something I can’t emphasize enough. One day, when I wasn’t feeling well, they called to check on me and brought tereré to my room — just out of pure care. Every interaction felt genuine and generous. They went above and beyond to accommodate our needs throughout the stay. For example, when I asked if they had any plant-based milk for breakfast, they didn’t have any that day — but by the next morning, they had gone out and bought some especially for me. That kind of attention to detail and thoughtfulness is what sets this place apart.
Breakfasts were delicious — especially the chipas, which became a morning highlight. The business center is relatively small but fully functional, and it met all our work-related needs perfectly.
La Casona is the perfect combination of charm, comfort, and care. Whether you’re traveling for business or rest, this is the kind of place that makes you feel at home. I can’t wait to come back.

Had an issue with A/C that was noisy. Carlos was incredible and had us switch rooms which made all the difference. The place is super comfortable and very accommodating. Shower worked well.
The A/C in the first room... as I mentioned... but I was very satisfied with how they handled it.

A little piece of heaven away from the hustle and bustle of the downtown core. It was in easy walking distance to several restaurants and shopping in Villa Morra. It was in a quiet neighborhood so there was no street noise to disrupt your sleep. The rooms are lovely but the best part was being able to escape the heat and humidity in their pool. Swinging in the hammocks on the outside patio was the perfect place to relax. The staff were attentive and helpful. They organized a private tour of Asuncion with a local guide which we would highly recommend. We also used their laundry service and this was reasonably priced. We highly recommend this lovely boutique hotel.
It was a 15 minute drive to the downtown core.
