the only tiny downside was that the wifi was a bit spotty in some of the upper rooms, but that's hardly an issue.

At first the room was very nice. I arrived a day later since my flight got delayed; and I was still charged for that day despite me not even being there.
The first night in the middle of the night I wake up to an itch on my body. I turn on the lights and there’s an entire army of ants. I didn’t have food around given that it was my first day, not sure how those ants were entering under my room. Nevertheless( the house keeper sprayed a bottle to kill and avoid further ants in the room.

An oasis in the centre of Asuncion with great free breakfasts. A comfortable retreat from the heat with its own garden and pool.
The area around the hotel felt a little risky arriving the first night, but in daylight it wss fine, although downtown Asuncion very quiet on a weekend.

The price for this hotel was quite good, for what it offered. A descent room with air condition, fridge, swimming pool and a descent breakfast. It's lets say, a 7,8/10. Not great, not terrible
The rooms and the hotel, needs a renovation, as it's quite visible the "oldness". Also the neighbourd by night is not the best, but the hotel is not responsible for that.

I booked a place in advance because I was aware I will be coming around midnight. Everything was supposed to be ok and confirmed. When I showed up, the man (owner?) told me they have rooms without water or electricity so they don't rent them. He told me to go to another hotel that was supposedly be responsible for handling my reservation. It was 8 km outside of the town but 1 went. The other hotel manager WAS SURPRISED AND DID NOT HAVE ANY ROOM. So I was left in the middle of the night to my own issues! What is worse - they still pretend to have rooms there (1 checked booking day after). I don't know what kind of shady deal it is but DONT TRY - for your own sake!
