Very Poor
location
10% for paying by credit card
bed and pillow were uncomfortable
hot shower didn't work
renovations being done in the hotel without prior notice
overall untidy yard
furniture fittings were old, unclean
damaged sliding door and chipped wall
Only reason I didn't move is because I was jet lagged and very tired
I didn't want to complain or else I would have gotten really upset

Upon my arrival, I was shown three rooms. The first two had a strong unpleasant odor, which the staff member even confirmed. The room I eventually got had no Wi-Fi. When I asked for another room, the staff member said I could switch the next day. In this room, the mattress was completely sagging, and the water from the faucet initially came out brown-yellow.
The next day, I switched rooms. While the Wi-Fi worked in this new room, the heating was broken. I only noticed this in the evening since I went to the city after switching rooms. In the evening, the staff member tried for over two hours to fix the issue and find another room. She offered me two more rooms, neither of which had working Wi-Fi, and one of them smelled unpleasant again. This process lasted until after 11 PM. Meanwhile, the refrigerator in another guest's room caught fire while she was sleeping, and the entire floor smelled strongly of burnt plastic.
I then said it was already late and that it seemed there were no functioning rooms available. I decided to stay in the broken room and requested a discount. She said that was not possible. In this room, the mattress was again sagging, and the shower only dripped – it needed descaling.
The whole hotel is run-down and far too expensive at $20 per night.
I strongly advise avoiding this hotel. You can get something better for your money in Asunción.

Good
The hotel has its nice sides, but also things to improve. The staff was friendly and helpful. The location short walk from all places of interest in center. Air conditioning was well appreciated (Asunción can be hot…).
The shower with fluctuating temperature, between warming and unpleasant kind of tepid but never really hot or strong.
The price is quoted only in dollars, but then you are charged in local currency, and the amount worked out to be higher than the one in the booking. Also payment by card attracts 10% surcharge.

The hostel is apparently nice and have good common spaces…if only they were kept clean! in particular swimming pool looks lovely in the summer.
No generator (and we had 5h blackout, which apparently here is frequent), not enough weather to take a shower (I tried and give up), dirty sheets and floor, completely unhelpful staff, not good vibe and did not feel safe. all this despote I had a provate room! I was supposed to stay 2 nights, and I left after the first one.
