Close to everything.
There is a casino hotel right in front that blocks the view of the beach but location is great. There is parking available at hotel but it is first come first serve basis. 3 spots in front and about 8-10 on the side. You have to get up early and see if any is available and ask front desk to park there. If not you have to find street parking it’s about 17 euros a day. (Very hard to find street parking)

The breakfast was nice, but it was the exact same food items every day. The location was great - right next to the beach. The room was spacious.
Although the room was large, it felt empty; there was very little space to store your belongings and certainly not enough space for two people to live comfortably for four days. My fiancé and I brought one combined medium-sized rolling suitcase, and we each brought a backpack. There was only space for her to store her belongings in the room. I had to live out of my suitcase. And in the bathroom, forget about it. We could each only keep out 2 travel-sized bottles on the sink countertop; otherwise, we were going in and out of the bathroom prior to each time we wanted to shower. Speaking of showering, what made it worse was that the property only provided two towels, meaning if you wanted to take a second shower in a day, you had to literally convince the front office staff to give you a second set of towels; otherwise, you were stuck drying yourself off with a wet towel! And you had to make the request for a second set of towels each morning to the front-office staff! Plus, we only encountered three front-office staff members. Only one of them was nice. The first one, upon check-in, was quite rude, and the last one was cold. There are many other options of places that are along the main road and just as close to the beach. For what we got and also not during nice weather-months, Hotel Santa Caterina Algarve was not worth the cost.

Perfect location for the MotoGP weekend! Within walking distance to the free shuttle and right across the street from a beautiful beach! The room was also very nice and always clean.

Great value and great location. Breakfast and dinner was a great deal. Very nice staff all around.
We didn't like how tight some of the bathrooms were. Tight parking, however that is Europe.

Staff was friendly, we had the worst view unfortunately, wasnt expecting to face directly across another building into someone elses room, no view at all. The beds were HORRIBLE worst sleep i could ever have, me & my husband could barely sleep, blankets were also pretty bad. Location is great right by the beach & the strip, breakfast wasn’t bad either lots of options. Overall if they can fix their beds it would be worth the price.

For a budget option this is my go to in Portimão, especially when traveling alone as they have a cheaper rate for solo travelers. Location can’t be beat.
Parking is extremely limited and the lot is small and the pack a bunch of cars in making it difficult to get out. Parking in this area is scarce in summer.

Location is the key here. It's right across from the casino hotel, and you can get a nice partial ocean view - plenty for me - as well as have access to the beach and the boardwalk.
Everything's a bit dated and simple - bed, bedding, tv, etc. Expect to be pleased but not wowed.
