Exceptional
An absolutely lovely hotel. The room was wonderful (thanks for the surprise upgrade). The bed was heavenly. The bar was cozy. The staff was exceptional. We will definitly stay here again.
Breakfast per person is 34€? Ridiculous. Instead we had a lovely breakfast right down the street for a fraction of that cost. BTW if you are driving, this place is a bit hard to find, but its location is great for visiitng Lisbon.

Disappointing
Having arrived rather late at night we were still able to notice how grand the entrance was. Check-in was a pleasant experience with the night staff being very friendly ... sadly, thats were things change for the worse.
After check-in, things took a bit of a nose dive. Getting to the room was when we started to notice just how shabby and scruffy the corrodor was leading to our room. Stains in the carpet and tatty corridor walls. Although the room itself was ultra modern, clean and welcoming, this was overshadowed by the shabby interior of the room. A huge very unsafe mirror was left just resting on the floor leaning against the wall unsecured. The wall had rawlplug hole badly filled and unpainted where once the mirror hung, so terrible dangerous. Reported to the night staff, shown to another room with the exact same thing ... simply asked for the mirror to be removed from the room as this seemed safest. Apparently, it would be reported to the general manager. Two bulbs were not working in the bathroom. In the morning, the shower took an eternity to warm up ... after fiddling with undisclosed bathroom buttons, it warmed up. Then we saw outside, "City View" what a joke! I appreciate that occasionally construction work will take place in surrounding buildings, but tatty, plastic clad hoarding was a mere 15ft away from the widows (complete with exterior plastic flowers!) did not match the City view as promoted. With a late arrival and not much time we headed to the eagerly awaited a la carte breakfast. Another total shambles! Two orders taken only one fulfilled, somehow they missed one breakfast. Worst still, unapologetic .... this created a delay in our planned day which meant we were then unabe to utilise the spa or the pool. In my honest opinion, if you are going to spend €400 for one night, do yourself a favour and choose a different hotel, this one - grand as it was really wasn't worth it! Having returned home, still no comments from the hotel manager about anny of the issues we experienced, guess they really don't care about "One" persons safety concerns and opinions!

Nice hotel architecture, comfortable rooms, excellent staff attitude attention and service.
Street view rooms have no views since they face the buildings which are close on the opposite side of the street.

My only complaint would be the bar was too quiet. No music was played that I remember. However, was not a big deal.

We did not have breakfast in the hotel.
The corridors to the bedrooms were a bit drop and depressing, which was out of character with the rest of the hotel.
