In an inner courtyard of an 18th-century mansion, this eco-hotel is located within the walls of St. Jorge's Castle. It features rooms with free Wi-Fi in the historic Alfama neighborhood. All double-glazed rooms at the Castelo feature hardwood floors and a contemporary classic décor. They all have satellite flat-screen TV and a DVD player. The bathroom has a bathtub and robes. During evenings, the Solar’s elegant lounge area with original stone walls is a pleasant place to retreat with a drink from the bar. In the daytime, guests can relax to the sound of splashing water by the courtyard’s fountain. Solar do Castelo - Lisbon Heritage Collection - Alfama is just a 10-minute walk from the the center of Lisbon, with its many restaurants and access to the metro. Praça do Comercio riverfront square is just over half a mile away.

Lovely place , comfortable, welcoming and I liked the little touches with the free port and cakes
Hotel is at the top of a steep hill by the castle - perfect for visiting the castle, but tough going to get elsewhere! The area was very quiet at night and I struggled to find places to eat.

Lovely hotel, in quiet spot inside the castle outer walls. Comfortable rooms - great lounge area for breakfast, afternoon tea. Courtyard also looked lovely - just not quite warm enough to sit there during our visit.
Worth remembering that the castle is the highest point in Lisbon - so it’s a good walk up and down a steep hill. There is a local bus that stops nearby though!

Fantastic feel to the hotel, warm and friendly. Nice and peaceful after a day in the city. Breakfast area and lounge area are in the same space, but it's a lovely large room with a nice view onto the enclosed patio area.
It was a tough walk uphill to the hotel and the taxi drivers won't take you to the door, but the 734 bus takes you almost to the hotel if needs be. We walked every night back to the hotel from the city centre, so the complimentary sparking wine (as much as you want!) was a nice welcome home gift

This is a lovely historic building. But if you use a driver not a Taxie to pick up,or deliver be aware that drivers are not allowed in this area. Taxis are. The hotel drove us to where we need to be but…. It is very good choice, just remember this hotel is up hill. Lovely breakfast!
