In an inner courtyard of an 18th-century mansion, this eco-hotel is located within the walls of St. Jorge's Castle. It features rooms with free Wi-Fi in the historic Alfama neighborhood. The entire experience was excellent. Breakfast was available until noon. Which is unheard of! The rooms are spacious, quiet and comfortable. There were also many dining and shopping options very close by. If you are looking for a beautiful hotel with tons of charm and a wonderful staff look no further this is your hotel.
The hike up. We found it to be much easier after a glass of wine!

Lovely oasis almost inside Castelo Sao Jorge. Wonderful staff and environment with many extras such as a bottle of port in the room, espumante at 6 and endless pastel de Nata. Our room had a view of the castle peacocks. We were well taken care of and very comfortable

Very Good
Breakfast was good, staff was very helpful, and my room was very nice and comfortable. This building is over 250 years old, so it has incredible characteristics and charm.
The hotel can be a bit noisy - specifically people in other rooms moving chairs around on the wood floors. The hotel is at the top of the hill above the Castle, so if you don't have a car, that means hill walking every day. If you want to be closer to more restaurants and shopping, I would suggest staying in another area.
