Lifts are awful, only two lifts for such tall building. People felt inside as on subway on a rush hour. It’s very disappointing for such a good hotel.

The hotel allowed people who had just come from the gym, soaked in sweat, into the breakfast room. This says more about those inconsiderate people than it does about the hotel staff who work tirelessly. That said, these people should not be allowed into the breakfast room until they have changed from their gym kit!

We had a problem with our shower! TV was hard to operate there were no clear instructions.

The hotel is very large and everything is very busy. The pool area is loud, inaccessible as it was always full and the prices in the restaurant and bar are excessive compared to the rest of Lisbon. Also the toiletries aren’t filled up in the hotel. We had no body lotion, I asked 3 times in 4 days for this to be filled up. I even stopped the cleaner when I saw her and she said that she would deal with it but it didn’t happen. This isn’t 5 star.

Prices for food and drinks on the high side

The check in was poor in my opinion. I had requested an early check in because our flight got into Lisbon at 9.30am the receptionist explained that there was no free rooms when we arrived which I accepted. He explained that if something became available before the official check in time if 3pm that he would phone me. I didn’t receive a call so myself and my family headed out into a very hot Lisbon. We arrived back at 3pm and I stood in the queue to pickup our keys(we had three rooms booked) and watched couples in front of me collecting room keys and then it was my turn. I was told that they still didn’t have or rooms ready but they could give us one room and if we waited for 10-15 minutes they would deliver the keys for the other rooms to us, I grudgingly accepted and we headed up to the room. After sitting for over 30 minutes I went back down, different receptionist who didn’t know what I was talking about but then tried to say that they still didn’t have rooms ready. They could see I was getting a little angry and then produced keys for the other two rooms. There was no explanation about where every thing was in the hotel (facilities) so we had to wander around looking for things or go back to reception to ask. One of the reasons we booked this hotel was the rooftop pool, it was a write off as they had a very small amount of beds which were taken with towels / books at breakfast. They do have some very uncomfortable chairs around the pool but there’s no shade so 10 minutes and that about all anyone could stand. Lastly I had explained before that we were out celebrating birthdays before we arrived as part of a message between myself and someone from guest services when booking the hotel restaurant. The hotel made a really nice gesture by leaving a bottle of wine and a cake for my wife’s birthday in our room the only disappointment was that my son who had his own room received nothing on his birthday which I found a strange.
