Very Poor
I booked a one bedroom suite, the picture displayed above was nothing like the room I was given. It said I had a terrace, but did not. It was very dark and felt like I was in an attic because I was.
When I flipped through the photos displayed on the booking site, my room was not shown.
The room, location was off a back alley and very sketchy for drivers to locate.

The whole experience was absolutely magical. We felt like royalty enjoying all the beautiful stained glass and antique furnishings. It is truly a palace. Every detail takes you back in history. The sunrise over the water was so pretty. We enjoyed a lovely breakfast on the terrace and later had happy hour there. You feel like the entire house is your own. The staff was also very friendly and helpful. We absolutely would recommend staying here and cant wait to return.

A one if a kind unique house or mini palace
Access a little tricky. OnlyTaxis allowed at the closer back entrance. Uber will take you to Taylor wine. Then go straight up the steps from there. Best bet be in touch with helpful staff

A beautiful hotel on the inside. Beautifully decorated, intimate setting, great view and very friendly and obliging staff.

Understaffed. Poor guy was running around by himself all day from being server at bfast while still checking people in and out.

We were delighted with our room, which was spacious and had a balcony overlooking the Targus river. The breakfasts were out of this world, and the staff were wonderfully helpful. One of our bags was lost, and one of the staff was alert enough to correct the address I had given the airline. Another one of the staff booked out train tickets from Lisbon to Porto and not only secured us forward facing seats but got us the senior discount, which was half off! The hotel itself is wonderfully charming. It was a private home for a wealthy family. Our room had its own chapel just down the hall. (Actually, we were happy to share the chapel.)
The cruise ships that tie up across the street! We had a room with a balcony that allowed us to enjoy time watching river traffic. On our last morning, my wife looked out the window and asked "Who built that new apartment across the street?!" It was a cruise ship that arrived in the middle of the night and nearly completely blocked out view of the river. I'm not sure what anyone could do about that.

If you love old world style and character this is the place. Wonderful cook to order breakfast and coffee served on tablecloths with crystal and china. Warm friendly and very helpful staff.
I would have preferred staying on 2nd floor than third.

Marvelous breakfast served in an elegant setting. Location was absolutely prefect - close to all important sites, but quiet.

Friendly staff and excellent breakfast and location perfect for Fado. Great balcony with River views in large spacious room.
No elevator, funky room decor, musky odor, electrical outlets poorly located, pillows too soft or too hard, dangerous staircase, lack of touches,
Lighting too bright, A/C remote very old poorly functioning, and overall did not feel like a "hotel", seems overpriced for the quality and lack of maintenance. There was no overall guidance on area, map, or process of transportation until our last day.

Location, Ambiance , Suite sizes and especially Xavier who was just amazing so kind and professional.
Because of how this amazing historic hotel is built most of the suites have internal windows which do unfortunately allow noise and loud conversation from the lower entrance area to impact the peace of ones own suite particularly in the late evening.
