Formerly known as a cabaret, the Maxime is now reborn as a hotel. The place where spies and dancers from last century dwelt, is now open to guests and Lisbon’s visitors retaining all its former glory. Always in good care by the mysterious Lady Maxime, guests will enjoy carefully decorated rooms with a variety of themes ranging from the dressing room, the stage or the bondage. Each is air conditioned and comes with a Nespresso machine, a private bathroom with Castelbel amenities, a Marshall speaker and a flat-screen TV. The bar kept its original counter and hosts a restaurant as well. Guests can enjoy a thematic menu next to the glorious stage, under the original ceiling of the cabaret and surrounded by replicas of the original chandeliers. Every Friday and Saturday guests can enjoy the Maxime Restaurant & Bar cabaret shows. Hotel Maxime is just 1-minute walk from the Liberdade Avenue and metro station. Rossio Square is 2297 feet away and the Chiado shopping area is a 10-minute walk away. Lisbon Airport is 4.3 mi away.

Comfortable, clean, good location being close enough to the action to walk, good soundproofing and quiet, breakfast was pretty good but they did run out of eggs regularly. Staff were helpful. I've given a score of 9 but 8.5 would be more accurate as the hot water was luke warm on 2 of my 6 nights - only criticism really but apparently the maintenance team was on to it.
The water was luke warm on 2 nights - details in what I liked. Also caveat emptor: the hotel kindly ordered a taxi for me on an app when I was leaving. For some reason whether I was paying cash or with a card was relevant. The car, No 94, ripped me off and I naively paid cash having not seen the meter (it seemed to be hidden from sight). Suggest don't jump in that cab number. Not the hotel's fault, though.

Very comfortable and central location. Quirky decor was fun. Sorry we didnt get to watch the cabaret. Something for next time. Extremely friendly and helpful staff.

We had a really bad smell coming from the bathroom, and we straight away notified the staff, we were informed they would get their maintenance person to look at it tomorrow morning as there was nothing they could do about it now. When we asked if we could get a new room, we were told no as the hotel was fully booked. The next morning, we asked again what was happening, and we were informed the night before staff hadn't even noted down our concerns. Once they decided to go to the room and look, they offered us a new room but a room that was a lot smaller than what we paid for, to the point our luggage wouldn't fit. We specifically paid for a deluxe room because we had luggage and needed a big room. Worse experience i have ever had, wouldn't recommend

The location is great, directly at the City centre. So you can visit a lot of places by walking through Lisbon. The staff is very friendly and the breakfast more than enough and tasty with a lot of choices. The rooms are not even big but cozy.
There was nothing really disturbing!
