Excellent location, very responsive host, secure premises, very clean, would book again for our family of 5, including children aged 7, 5 and 2. Air conditioning was a blessing in the heat.

The location was excellent. The apartment was very clean, the beds were very comfortable and there was plenty of hot water. Comfortable, large kitchen and a nice washer/dryer combo unit that, miraculously, we figured out how to use. We also appreciated the elevator.
The instructions to open the street door were not clear and we had to call the host for clarification. The bathtub/shower is a death trap for senior citizens. It could use a grab handle to avoid dead guests on the floor. We helped each other in and out of the shower. If you are an American you might have trouble figuring out how to turn the cooktop on. Some basic instructions would be helpful. We had to do a lot of googling to figure it out.

The apartment was cute and well provided with everything we needed. Beds were comfy, couch was fairly comfy. We couldnt get the dryer to work but hung out cloths to dry. It was spacious enough for 3 adults. There is a small lift which was great, helpful with getting our luggage and groceries up to 5th floor. The lift is tiny so you may have to do 2 trips if you have large luggage and are more than 2 adults.
The location was fantastic. We arrived late evening and it felt a bit like we were in an area that might not be ideal but once out and about the next day, to our delight it was a fantastic area and we walked everywhere at all hours. A few of the sites we wanted to visit were about a 30 minute walk(but that was our choice) and hilly but there are lots of quaint places to stop for a snack or drink or just rest. Buses are easy to take as well and as I said there are lots of places close by that are amazing.
We will come back to Madalena.
The fact that the dryer is impossible to use without some written instructions.

Pros Excellent location close to restaurants, coffee shops , grocery store, air conditioned. Clean and bright. Good size apartment, washing machine, no dryer Cons: no closet, I could not hang my dresses or pants, they only had dresser, which was very inconvenient for me. Besides that it was great
Place to put toiletry bags in bathroom. Its great that they have a washing machine, but the combo drier did not dry our clothes after two attempts back to back.

The location was excellent with restaurants and shops steps away. The apartment was spacious, clean and two comfortable bedrooms. The key access to the outside door and apartment was very convenient for coming and going.

The location was great !
Very easy to get in and out the flat, lift for the bages.
Clean and large room, hot water.
The kitchen was equipped.
The Washing machine didn't work properly.
There wasn't a try for the oven..
The kitchen panel fell every time that we opened the dishwasher.

Very nice flat, well equipped and maintained, at very good location and in nice/safe building with lift. Very good host, responding fast to queries. Highly recommended, especially for families.
Minor issues. Small TV, a bit slow and unresponsive at times. Also, even though the building is well maintained, the soundproofing is not great and can hear noise from the flat above and communal staircase.

Big spacious bedrooms, clean and cozy apartament quite quiet even though it was in the strict city centre.
Great localisation!!! Next to the main street, square, metro, tramways - literally everything needed for city break.
There were not enough closets in the bedrooms - separate wardrobe in the corridor for all was not in use as we did not wanted to share it.
Living room space was a corridor actually, and not very nice place to spend time.
