The location was good. The staff’s behavior was at an acceptable level. Having slippers in the room was a nice touch
There seemed to be an office of the hotel above our room, and the floor was probably wooden. We constantly heard creaking noises, likely from the wooden floor flexing as people walked. This noise, coming from the ceiling, occurred every 2–3 minutes. The curtain in the room was dirty, and the crown moldings were moldy. I also found the breakfast insufficient, and most importantly, it became boring after the second day because it was the same every day

This Hotel Tejo is in a great location in Lisbon and has great combination of transportation close to it. Hotel employees were great!

Breakfast was excellent. The staff even had gluten free bread for my husband and me.
Lighting in our room was hard to use—switches, etc.
The two agents who checked us in were the best. On another occasion, the young woman was informative and business-like, but not as friendly and helpful.

Good
The location is ideal, but the other My Story around the corner had a more inviting vibe. The breakfast is good, the rooms are nice, it’s worth the price.
I had read about this on other reviews and thought it was a slight exaggeration or perhaps it was just a capricious traveler. Here goes. The towels are absolutely treated like the ancient crowned jewels. You get one bath towel and one hand towel per person and a dingy little towel bath mat “thingy”. Do not ask for any more - you won’t get one. Your room will be cleaned but your dirty towels will not be changed. It is the most awkward experience having to beg for just one extra towel for us to share. (See, the hairdryers shut off after they get too hot (2 minutes). Therefore, those of us with longer hair need a second towel to dry our hair.) It’s a hard NO from the front desk. So, either, bring your towels, buy some there or maybe wash yourself every other day and hang your towel out to dry. As per the breakfast, it’s reliably delicious I just don’t know if it’s worth the price and if it’s not a better idea to explore. Also, the table bussing situation is rather slow. So, just eat and stack your dishes on top of each other as you finish. There is no bin to place them in to make more space (tables are the size of a kindergarteners desk) and they don’t get picked up. I don’t think this is a situation that occurs only at the hotel restaurant, it’s all of Lisbon’s dining rooms experiences (elevated Or not). It is important to note that I absolutely love the 3 hour European dining experience, yet in Lisbon they just don’t come grab the empty dishes. I digress. It’s worth the price. I don’t think I would stay there again.

Exceptional service. Andre (the man in the grey suit) helped us with finding places to visit and tips on how to get there as it was our first time in Portugal. Staff were incredibly nice. We got a free room upgrade. Breakfast was enjoyable. Rooms were very clean. The location of the hotel is great too as it is near tourist attractions.
Just minor things. I wish the TV didn’t automatically turn on every time we entered the room and I wish the sofa bed was cleaned up before we used the room.

One of my best ever hotel experiences. The manager a guy in a grey suit literally could not have done any more for us. Lucky to get a room upgrade.
Our room was a suite it was really good. So surprised by all the staff they were so accommodating and made our stay really enjoyable. They organised our airport transfer as well.

Wonderful
All the staff were very friendly and helpful and spoke fluent English. For example they arranged a hassle free shuttle back to the airport for our return flight. The hotel is well located for exploring Lisbon- many sights are within walking distance, Belem can be reached by bus in 15 minutes, bird watching on the Tagus estuary in 30 minutes; Sintra by train in 40 minutes from the nearby Rossio station. In the evening there are many restaurants nearby. The room was brilliant with a view of the castle walls - spectacular when lit up at night!
A pity the restaurant was not open in the evening - we had some heavy rain so would have used it.
