I liked the room, the view to the main square. The room was quiet even though theere were a lot of people enjoying the night. Breakfast was very good. The staff was very kind and helpful.
I did'nt like the entrance to the hotel, you have to climb a few stairs before reaching the elevator to the reception. The room was a little too small, but I knew that in advance so no big deal.

We had read some negative reviews regarding construction, access, noise, etc but we cannot confirm any of these negative comments. The rooms and all other areas of the hotel are very nicely renovated. Breakfast area is overlooking the square, in the breakfast area is lots of space to just sit and relax and look out to the square. Breakfast was excellent. We liked the coffee, pastries, joghurt, fruit, .... enough choice to enjoy. The staff was very helpful and friendly. We had a room to the back and it was quiet - but it was also off- season. The location is perfect - close to the metro station and everything in walking distance. Ask the staff for recommendation where to eat! We ate at two local restaurants where the food was delicious and the prices very affordable.

A hidden gem in the heart of Lisbon! A traditional hotel with lovely features and architecture that deserves more than 3* rating. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The room was spacious and well appointed and we had a bottle of water every day. Breakfast was superb and the mimosas were a nice touch. We've stayed in various 3* and 4* hotels in the area, some better than others, but none we've really wanted to stay in again. Hotel Metropole will be our "go to' hotel next time we visit this beautiful city.
Lighting for applying makeup is not ideal but a very minor issue.
