The location is good - the hotel is located very close to the metro station. The breakfast is decent, the staff at breakfast is very friendly
The Personal at the counter of the hotel is not friendly, looked like we were distracting him from watching tv when we arrived for check in - we had a late one - around 10 pm. The room was dirty - the toilet looked like it was not cleaned in years - there was mold inside. Due to covid, cleaning service is not provided on a regular basis and you have to request it by yourself every morning when you would like to have the room cleaned. One day we were still in the room, and the cleaning lady came and asked us to leave, so she could clean. We asked to come in 30 min, and she said it wasn’t possible. No shampoo or shower gel was provided when we checked in, we had to ask separately for it. I appreciate that there are a lot of covid restrictions currently in Portugal, but it is not a reason to provide bad service, especially for the guests that stay longer - we spent 7 days in the hotel. Absolutely do not recommend to stay there

I don't think the hotel deserves four stars. However, due to the pandemic I would give it the benefit of daught
I booked a double bedroom to stay with my wife and there was two single beds joint together. There was only on towel set and one glass in the room. Even after my request to clean the room with specific recommendations that to double all we needed they still provide only one glass. I needed to share towels and water glass with my wife

Location was great but the staff...rude and when challenged on their policies after asking for more money at check in, they did not have a clue. I occasionally use mercure for personal and mostly for business trips but I will be changing my corporate account for both me and my employees next week.

The pool has a nice view. On the second day, the male server who served breakfast was very friendly. Close to the subway. Beds are okay.
Rooms need refurbishment as well as bed linen - there are holes, clippings, lots of scratches and something that looks like mold. Pool was advertised as open from June 30th and only opened on July 15th. Sound proofing virtually does not exist and the light from the corridor comes into the room. Reception could be a tad friendlier and actually have some idea of how their pool works - first they tell you you can just come up, then it turns out you have to get a card to enter. Breakfast choices were restricted, not sure whether due to covid or if it’s the normal. Overall, the hotel is not well kept or cleaned.

The location was good, since it was near a bus terminal and it was easy to pick up uber rides to town. The internet wifi access was very good.
To start off, the buffet and the pool were closed due to COVID-19 health concerns. The proposed alternative for the buffet was a room service delivered to your doorstep, which didn't garner our trust since there wasn't much variety on the menu. As far as the pool was concerned, there was no alternative. In our assigned room, the floor and the desk were sticky and poorly cleaned - the desk had some spots that could be scraped off with our nails. The hairdryer on the bathroom had dust on it and the bedding had some small dirty (dark) stains. The curtains had bugs that would come off every time you opened or closed them. To make matters worse, on my second night staying in that room we woke up in the middle of the night with water dripping from the ceiling. We had to immediately change rooms and all of our things had to be packed and moved to the new room, with additional care because of COVID-19 security procedures. Once again, we found the room wasn't very clean. Even though it was supposed to be an "upgraded version", the room managed to be smaller, the desk was much smaller and limited the amount of work I could do during the remainder of the stay. Overall, it was not a pleasant experience, we didn't feel very safe as far as health security was concerned, and I will refrain from booking this hotel ever again.

I didn't have a breakfast since I stayed there in the middle of Corona crisis. Breakfast and dinner were cancelled what is understandable. Hotel was close to one of the main bus stations so that was convenient.
I didn't like the level of cleanliness in the hotel. For such a category, hotel should be clean. I wore light socks in the room which were brown after walking there. That tells everything about the floors. Also, as soon as I came in, there was a hair on the bathroom sink and more hair in the bathtub. This is simply not acceptable. In these corona times, they should take even more care about the cleanliness.

The hotel was entirely as expected from the brand. The facilities were very good. The reception staff were efficient and very helpful especially when a crisis hit my stay.
The "dining room" was laughable. An extension of the lobby, it was functional at best. The staffing was lean to the point of invisibility. One had to search for service even between courses. The menu was no more than basic. Large parties seemed to be the hotel speciality. This presented a problem. The location was a suburban office neighbourhood with no serious evening restaurant provision. Given this and the hotel dining room inadequacy, it requires a 15 minute Metro ride to find dinner in the evening.
