The staff and volunteers were great, and I loved the evening dinners. The breakfast was a good and affordable option. Very cozy feel.
The top bunks didn’t have curtains, but not a huge deal.

they have a strict policy for breakfast at 8 so if you have a tour early morning and you request breakfast even if semi-ready at 7:55 it is a no no

Yes please come Home! Look no further than this unique hostel. Here you have family and friends. The people attracted to this hostel are open minded to the concept. The layout is wonderful, you have a nice living room, a nice kitchen to cook and leave your food! But the Best is Mama’s dinner with Mama and your fellow travelers and friends. The breakfast is out of this world- you will not find a better breakfast elsewhere for only 5 euro. You have laundry facilities and a fabulous bar. But of course besides these amenities the most important is the people. The owners of the hostel and the workers are so friendly and make you feel at HOME. I have been to over 250 hostels and I vote Home Lisbon the most unique and Best for all the soul, vibes, family and offerings to comfort a traveler. The location is perfect as well and the other activities such as walking tour, pub crawl, and Sintra tour are fantastic touches. I was here 1 week and extended because I didn’t want to leave. Please come with good vibes and you will leave grateful and even better vibes than when you started. We welcome you HOME ? p.s. I stayed in the Girls section and it was a luxury to have our own little wing of the house- we have our own bathrooms and space- it’s a little oasis away when you need your moments alone or with your chicas ??

This hostel was by far the best I've ever stayed at! As a solo female traveler I felt safe and staff was extremely helpful in recommending places to check out in the city or how to get around! I made so many friends with fellow travelers as the hostel organizes trivia nights, and group dinners which were really fun! The facilities are gorgeous, clean and I was super comfortable during my stay! Great experience with The Home Lisbon Hostel and I'd totally stay again!

Clean- rooms showers and bathrooms were very clean as well as all the common areas. Beds were comfortable and the top bunk with no curtain was no bother for me, there’s enough privacy in my opinion due to the wood panel on the side of the bed. Very big drawer for each person to staw luggage, it fit my 65 liter bag as well as my 35ish liter backpack and had extra space left.

Home Hostel Lisboa truly lives up to its name!
After crossing the pond, I arrived early from my flight—tired and desperate for a nap (the worst thing to do before check-in!). From the moment I walked in, Rosalia made me feel instantly at home. She welcomed me with warmth and gave me a list of great things to do while waiting for my room.
It was such a treat to see her every morning at breakfast—always cheerful, smiling, and ready to help with directions or recommendations. Shout-out to Vanessa as well for her kindness and for helping make my first trip to Lisboa so memorable.
This hostel really does feel like home—friendly faces, cozy vibes, and genuine hospitality. I can’t wait to come back!

The hostel is super unique and well-designed. The breakfast costs only 5€ and it is good.
When I asked if I could check in earlier than 15:00, they said it would be possible only if a bed was available, which sounded reasonable to me. However, on the day I arrived, they messaged me that check-in actually started at 15:30. I had just come from a super long flight with a 7-hour layover and all I wanted was to finally get some sleep, but I couldn’t because of all this. When I finally checked in, there were no blankets, and the mattress had stains, I was quite disappointed. When I messaged the staff, they said the cleaning lady would make my bed only in the evening. On my floor, the shower wasn’t working for two days, so I had to go to the second floor to shower, which meant there was just one shower for both floors.

The staff was accommodating, the decor was moody and cute. Staff was very nice. Beds were VERY comfy. Bathrooms were always clean, they also do daily activities
The building is old, but nobody can help this. I also didn't like how small the kitchen was because you couldn't really work or be in it when family meal was being made.
