Good
We recently stayed at the Holiday Inn in Portugal and found it to be a convenient base for exploring the city. The hotel is just a 3-minute walk from Entrecampos train station, where you can catch both the metro and regional trains, making it easy to travel around Lisbon and beyond. There is also a taxi rank directly outside the hotel, and the main bus station is within walking distance. The area has plenty of restaurants, cafés, and other eateries nearby.
The rooms were comfortable, and the bed provided a good night's sleep. The shower was excellent, with strong water pressure and plenty of hot water. The Wi-Fi was also fast and reliable throughout our stay. However, the room décor felt a little dated and could benefit from a refresh.
One thing to be aware of is that the windows can open fully, so families travelling with young children may wish to take extra care.
The highlight of our stay was the breakfast. There was an excellent selection of fresh and wholesome food, with something to suit every taste. We also had dinner at the hotel, where children eat free. The buffet was again very good, offering plenty of choice and a variety of tasty dishes.
The hotel also has a small gym, which is useful for maintaining a workout routine while travelling.
Overall, this is a comfortable and well-located hotel with excellent transport links, good facilities, and outstanding food. While the rooms could be modernised and noise may be an issue for light sleepers, the convenient location, friendly amenities, and excellent breakfast make it a solid choice for families and city-break travellers.
The main downside was the noise. The corridors can become quite noisy, and guests frequently banging doors was enough to shake the bed and wake light sleepers like me. Soundproofing could definitely be improved.

Good
The breakfast was not to par, the sausage and the bacon was not thoroughly cooked properly.
There were 3 adults in our room and we had to request for a 3rd bed several times throughout the afternoon for the extra bed.

Wonderful
The staff on Saturday night was very helpful and kind.
There were various pillows to choose from but they were all too high/big for my taste.

Hotel did not have CCTVs surrounding their exterior premises, and we got mugged at the bus stop just a few steps outside the hotel. Staff couldn't do anything to help us. They called us and we thought they were assisting us with filing a report with the police because they said they would help and would even ask for CCTV footage from nearby establishments and even took our time to get all the details and all, only to find out they didn't do so. So we just wasted our time explaining to them, and we didn't do the police report ourselves based on our conversation with them, so we couldn't file for insurance claim.
Sliding window curtains fell, and while they promptly sent up repair, the repairmen brought all their dirty shoes inside the whole room and hotel did not send people to come over to clean up the floor after. Took forever for them to bring up water. Called four times for water, and got ignored four times too and only had water delivered on our fifth call the next morning. No nearby places for food. Very limited in house menu.

The staff is wonderful! The employees are very plesssnt, welcoming and eager to assist.
I wasn’t impressed by the cuisine… in fact, I didn’t enjoy the very bland and tasteless dinner at all! It reminded me of the one and only time I ate iat a diner?!

Very Good
Room was nice considering we had four people in it. Beds could be a little more comfortable but not bad. Staff were very friendly and quite helpful. Elevators are slow. Breakfast was very good though if you get there a bit later some items run out. Most days we were at breakfast early.
The surrounding area looks a bit run down but I did not feel unsafe. It's not the hotel's fault. The hotel was clean. At no time in Portugal did I feel unsafe.

The food was just okay. Eggs in the breakfast buffet were good, but were not replenished very quickly.

Very Good
Large clean rooms. I liked that the downstairs bar was open and had dinner as I was just staying there due to a long overnight layover in Lisbon prior to my flight the next day.
The pillows were awful for such a hotel. You could tell they were old. Not a single firm pillow even thought there was 4 of them.
I did not like there was no shuttle option for a hotel that was recommended close to the airport. The taxi drivers rip your off for a 10 min drive with a minimum of 20 euros. Use uber! (The taxi driver was rude when I asked him questions about the cost and requested a receipt).
