Some of the staff are excellent and go out of their way to help you (Joanna and Antonio). The hotel was impeccably clean and the breakfast was THE BEST HOTEL BREAKFAST I've had in 40 years of travelling. Even though I was there during the Feast of St. Anthony, and the hotel is right next to Alfama, with the double-glazed windows I had a quiet and undisturbed 3 nights. I had a late flight back home and I was able to use the spa shower room to tidy myself up before my flight.

There was a separate area displaying the ruins discovered during construction of the museum. This included recovered pottery and daily items used from two thousand years ago. The hotel sits on what was a protective wall and community well.
Everything was perfect. We left before breakfast and the kitchen prepared two take away boxes with water, juice, fruit, sandwiches, and pastries. This would be worth about US$50 at the airport if we had to buy it. Very pleased.

Location was perfect. We wanted to stay in Alfama to explore around. Walking distance to the Sao Jorge Castle, Praça do Comércio and Augusta Street. Staff was really friendly and resourceful to help me book a trip to Cascais next day. Thank you!

Loved the location, and also Loved the museum in the hotel. We did the tour, the guide was exceptionally helpful- we were a few minutes late, and at the end, she offered to redo the bit we missed at the beginning. Lots of small local bars and restaurants nearby.
Breakfast options were huge, but I don't tend to eat much Breakfast. So no complaint at all really!

It’s a hotel that is part museum! The free guided tour of the ruins was fascinating. The rooms were spacious and spotless and the location is at the bottom of one of many of Lisbon’s hills
