The hotel itself was beautiful with regards to architecture. We were in Room 9, and the view was amazing, overlooking the city of Lisbon. But the breakfast was spectacular. Although breakfast was included, the hotel had no breakfast room. Thus, they provided breakfast in your room every morning, and it was absolutely the best breakfast we had during our whole 3 week trip in Europe. Daniel who manned the front desk was also wonderful and wasted no time in sharing his knowledge of the history of the hotel, as well as the history of the city of Lisbon, which we thoroughly enjoyed. The staff also provided several recommendations for great places to eat. Thank you to the staff of the Palace Chiado Suites for a memorable stay.

I would have given 11 stars if available. Everything here exceeded my expectations. Enormous room w two double floor to ceiling windows with wooden interior shutters. Very comfortable king size bed. Separate "dressing room"/closet area, great shower. Breakfast included and delivered to your room! And what a breakfast! Fresh-squeezed oj, eggs w herbs, fresh fruit, croissants, sweet pastry, cheese and cold meat, and of course a big pot of strong coffee. We felt like royalty. Friendly, helpful staff, short walk to the metro and Rossio train station for your day trip to Sintra. Lots of shopping and restaurants within a 5 minute walk, including several literally 1 minute away.
Not an issue for us, but for anyone w physical limitations, there is no elevator.

Every effort was made by the staff to make our stay smooth and enjoyable. The breakfast delivery was a great experience. The room was very large and grand, in keeping with the property's history, while the bathroom and air con facilities were modern. The perfect balance.
The room was up a flight or two of stairs. There is no lift available. Understandable given the age of the building. Pack accordingly!

The location was the best. The staff were all so nice and helpful. The breakfasts were outstanding.
They advised us no drinking in the room (or eating) with a $15 corkage. This is not reasonable especially having been in winery tours and collecting some wines to drink.
Also the hotel room was a 3 flight walk-up which surprised us. No elevator. We had canceled an Airbnb because it was a walk-up situation.

Wonderful
While the location and interior decor of the hotel was great, the staff at hotel were amazing. We had to change to a different room in the middle of the stay and they were happy to accommodate us and try to make something work. In addition, we had to send several messages to them to arrange transfer at the airport and a crib for our toddler and they were easy to communicate with and very helpful. Lastly, the breakfast was amazing. Would definitely recommend this hotel to others!
Some of the rooms can get a bit noisy so if you are sensitive to noise, make sure you inquire about a quiet room when booking. They can help you find one that is less noisy.

Location was perfect to see the city.
While the breakfast was good, I'd prefer to have the flexibility of a buffet style breakfast. A bit skimpy on the coffee amount (one cup each).

The property is very centrally located, and is in a stately and beautifully restored and maintained building . The rooms are spacious and are uniquely furnished.
No drawbacks really - it does not have sound proofing ( because of its age) and there is not fitness facility but it makes up for it in its quiet grandeur .

This was a wonderful property. Excellent big room, wonderful view, quiet, short walk to downtown, friendly staff, excellent full breakfast in the room, arranged ride to airport, great advice on what to do and see, helped with luggage, great price for this location, tapas bar two doors away and Rocco bar across the road. Great service by Maria and Miguel and another lady at the desk and the staff who delivered breakfast.
