Very good location, close to the subway station. Our room was cleaned every day. The staff was friendly. Breakfast was generous. We enjoyed our stay.

We stayed here for 4 nights in an ensuite. In general we are super satisfied with everything it provided, convenient location, good restaurants in the neighborhood, a couple of minutes away by walk to the subway, etc. The ensuite is spacial, comfortable and very clean. Super friendly staff and the breakfast is a bonus. Thank you Castilho House.
We will for sure make it as our weekend getaway stay in the future.

Quiet place facing not a very busy street. Technically they occupy a floor in a residential building, so don't expect a flashy entrance and swimming pool. Otherwise great place to stay in the city center. Either the other guests were very responsible, or the sound proofing is great, but no noise complaints at all.

Clean interior, good breakfast
The "suite" was a single room with a plaster wall separating the sleeping area from the bathroom. The wall didn't go up all the way to the ceiling so using the toilet was very uncomfortable, as you could hear everything from the bathroom "area". This is not a hotel but rather an apartment transformed into rooms for rent

Location was close to main attractions, restaurants, cafes, tours. The room was small but efficient. The bathroom was modern but the door was awkwardly placed in the room. The staff were very helpful and friendly. The breakfast was great in a cozy little room with a good variety of fresh basic items.
The signage on the front indicating Castilho House was almost impossible to see. There are other businesses in the building which also have signage so we had a difficult time actually locating the correct entrance . We guessed at which bell to ring to be let in so that could be improved. We arrived in the daytime but in the dark it would be extra challenging.
It's a very busy street so be prepared for noise and traffic.
