The room was an OK size, and includes towel hire as standard so we didn't have to pay that on top of the room price. The room also had a nice view, and had a built-in wardrobe which is nice for a hostel room! The building was pretty, and the gardens and outside bar were nice for relaxing. Spacious common room on the lower ground floor too!
The bathrooms. Firstly, the doors were always left open, so you could hear EVERYTHING from inside your room. At all hours of the day and night. Someone taking a ? You'll hear it. Someone drying their hair? You can hear it from any room on the same floor. Basically the bathrooms all need automatic door closers (with soft close to avoid slamming) so that the noise doesn't travel and the rooms are quieter.

Loved it, not your avarage hostel. I liked comfy beds with lamps and curtains! Nice altbau interior. Staff were extremely friendly and helpful.

The staff went above and beyond,they were really kind and helpful and allowed me to store my bag until late night after check-out. The place is wonderful,with charming rooms and an amazing garden. Everything from the single beds to dorms to common areas was clean,more than an average hostel.
They ask for a 10 euros deposit in case the room key gets broken. The problem is that the key is really fragile (chip inside a tiny plastic box) and you could end up breaking it.

The building is beautiful, the decoration is just as beautiful. They had a very nice garden and bar. Old typical Portuguese building. The beds are conformatable. And it's well located. Activities are proposed !
There are three toilets per floor and we are about a hundred travelers. Even if it was cleaned every day, the toilets are often very very dirty. Three toilets per floor is really little. Another very negative point, I had asked to be put in a room that did not overlook the street (I made the request months before) and I was still put in a room that overlooks the street. I was in a girls' dormitory and there were others on the other side of the corridor...... The noise of traffic and people screaming in the evening is unbearable even with the window closed and earplugs. And finally, the staff is not very pleasant to see nonchalant at times.
