The room was ok with some maintenance issues. The hotel is very tired.
The position is very good.
This man who checked us in and the maintenance man were both very helpful and friendly.
The sliding door to the bathroom in the first room that they gave us was faulty and we had a struggle to let my husband exit! The maintenance man tried to fix it, but couldn’t, so we were moved to another room. This room wasn’t as nice as the first one and also had several maintenance issues, but this time we didn’t ask for help as we didn’t want to change rooms again.
The lady clearing tables at breakfast was very abrupt and unpleasant to us. The breakfast is adequate, but has very little variety and the pastries weren’t fresh.

On the facade it looked plush but the detail was tired…old rust on the mirror, wallpaper coming off wall, stains on carpet, small room…not much area around the bed and it was twin beds put together. I ticked the double bed option..

We love the complimentary coffee at the lobby.
We would prefer a standing shower separated from the bathtub as it is dangerous to climb in and out of the bathtub for there is no bar to hold on to when getting in and out of it. The hotel needs to assess the risk of possible accident to guests in the bathroom.

Location is excellent. Very easy to walk to most places of interest. We were in interconnecting rooms which was handy.
Hotel is clearly advertised as having a shared pool with the sister hotel, but it was closed for the season, even though it was 24 degrees, disappointing. There is no bar in the hotel until later in the evening, so again we were directed to the sister hotel for that, not ideal. There are no lounge facilites at all during the day. There are a few sofas in reception but you can't order a coffee or a soft drink or snacks to have whilst sitting there.
Breakfast is a little disappointing, really just a selection of pastries & a poor choice of fruit. The cooked items were pretty awful. I asked for poached eggs one day & they were the worst poached eggs I've ever had!
Rooms are a bit tired & every day the maids forgot something when cleaning, it was either towels, pillowcases, toilet paper.
For a 4 star hotel, charging a substantial sum I feel a bit short changed.
And last point, which some people may not agree with. Each time we walked through reception the staff completely ignored us. No 'good morning' or acknowlegment, felt a bit rude.

The staff. Maria was so so nice.
No pool open. No spa. Sent to other hotel where the treated us poorly. Fire alarm rang at 6:30 and woke up whole hotel. We upgraded to best room and I thought it was a joke. Paid more for nothing.
