The staff were so helpful and supportive. I was able to check in early and got lots of help navigating around the city. When my Uber was having trouble getting to me, they offered to call a taxi and helped get my luggage to the pickup site.
While it was great to have a first-floor room (yeah, no stairs!), the room (and bathroom) was very small and the “balcony” was just an internal space open to the air.

My first time in Portugal and I already have the best experience staying at Anjo Azul. Special thanks to Miguel and Elena for welcoming us so warmly. Miguel and Elena are so kind and always helpful. Location is perfect; a short distance walk to the center and train stations. If you plan to run the Lisbon Marathon, this is a perfect place to stay.

Friendly, clean, super cute.
Nothing to say. We had a minor issue with appliances most likely due to storm and rain. They apologized although it wasn’t their fault, and moved us to another room right away.

Miguel and Elena treated us as family. Provided answers to all questions. Gave great restaurant recommendations, and offered morning coffee.
Many stairs to climb! Neighbourhood could be noisy at night, with new restaurant nearby.

It is in a very lively area of town with many bars and restaurants, but is on a quiet street. The staff is present 24 hours a day and are very friendly and helpful. It feels like family.
No real negatives. It is a climb to get to Barrio Alto so be prepared for that.

The staff were wonderful, so helpful. The location was great and they couldn't do enough for us. The reception staff were so amazing and each day the cleaning staff did such a fantastic job.
I would recommend more coffee and tea in our room but everything was perfect.

Was very intimidate and in a great area. Walkable to everything. Very clean and great staff - super helpful and friendly.
Our room was pretty tiny, nowhere to put our clothes if you want to unpack. However; we were only there for a shorter time period so we made it work :)

I thought the place was cute for the first 10min of my stay. I appreciated the initial concierage.
They push “customer service” so hard it crosses the line into nuisance. I also really didn’t appreciate not having wifi in the room. Maybe this was listed, but it’s such an anomaly that I didn’t even check for it. At this price point it’s really inexcusable. I also did not like being required to leave my key at the front desk, even for a 2 minute outdoor break. This defeated my purpose of a silent retreat and forced additional unwanted conversations with staff.

The small, well designed room for two was perfect for us. The location allowed us to walk and take the tram easily. The hotel staff was exceptional - providing us with touring and restaurant options, cleaned rooms every day that included a new bottle of water and espresso coffee, sound proof windows that completely blocked out the sounds of revelry from the street in the Bairro Alta and a comfortable feel that made us feel like special guests!!
