Altis Avenida — When Luxury Actually Feels Like Hospitality Some hotels are beautiful. Some are luxurious. And then there are hotels where the service makes you feel genuinely looked after. Altis Avenida falls firmly into the third category. From the moment we arrived, the experience felt different. The valet ran out to help my husband with our luggage, and the front desk team (Claudia) went above and beyond to make our stay special. We were unexpectedly upgraded to a beautiful room with a balcony overlooking Restauradores Square, the Restauradores Monument and the Lisbon sign. It was one of those lovely surprises that immediately sets the tone for a stay. The room itself was spacious, comfortable and impeccably clean. There was complimentary water and a thoughtful little serving of pastéis de nata waiting for us. And what I particularly appreciated was the generosity — nothing felt transactional or nickel-and-dimed. The lobby bar had complimentary still and sparkling water, along with sparkling wine available for guests to enjoy. Small gesture? Perhaps. But these are exactly the details that distinguish genuine hospitality from simply providing a luxury product. Housekeeping was exceptional. The room was serviced twice daily — once in the morning and again in the evening. At turndown, they would close the blinds, refresh the towels, leave chocolates on the bed and even provide a fresh bottle of port. It was beautifully done without ever feeling excessive. Breakfast was excellent, with a generous spread and plenty of choice. But the real star of this hotel is the people. One evening, we went to the bar for drinks only to discover it had closed. We asked if they could possibly make a hot chocolate for our son. They happily did — and then told us there would be no charge. That moment probably says more about the hotel than anything else. Luxury, to me, isn’t about marble, chandeliers or how many stars are attached to a property.

My main reason for booking this hotel was it's location, close to everything and in the heart of the city. Train to Sintra is just 5min walk. The room was good and has all the amenities needed for our stay. Breakfast was fantastic, there are fruits, hot food, plenty of choices. Staff are all awesome, from arrival we they made us feel really cared for, they were friendly and accommodating. Restaurant serves great food.

The Altis Avenida was a gorgeous hotel in the ideal location. The rooms were so comfortable and the rooftop was the jewel on top, the views were stunning. The Gastrobar, the breakfast room, everything was clean, elegant and well run. We chose the hotel to host a family reunion and birthday celebration and the trip was made perfect with the assistance of Frederico from the Guest Services Team. Frederico was amazing, he went far beyond any expectations. His suggestions and recommendations helped me plan events, tours and restaurants that enabled us to enjoy the best of Lisbon and the surrounding area. He organized our rooms to be close together and provided a walk-in shower for an older family member. All the staff were so friendly and helpful and welcomed us as they would welcome family. The celebrations over 4 nights with family from 4 countries created memories we will all cherish forever!

Breakfast was great a larger assortment of things to eat. Everything we tried was very good.
