My mom and I recently stayed at Tivoli Lagos and one of the highlights of our stay was the breakfast. We opted for the included breakfast, and it was definitely worth it. The buffet offered a good variety of dishes and everything was fresh. The only minor downside was that the selection was similar each day but still tasty. We also appreciated the bird control measures on the patio, which made our breakfast outdoors more pleasant.
The hotel overall feels a bit dated and could benefit from some renovation. Some areas, like the elevator, are small and make concerning noises. I would also say that the rooms are smaller than expected for the price paid, and the layout doesn’t leave much space especially with large luggage.
Additionally, the gap under the door is quite wide, which raises security concerns, especially for solo female travelers.
The shuttle to the beach was late on the way there and left 15 minutes early on the way back, forcing us to walk back to the hotel. In conclusion, while the staff was friendly, these issues impacted our experience, and we would suggest the hotel consider some improvements.

Hotel stars should be re-evaluated each year - I can absolutely see how this WAS a 4-star hotel but to claim that presently is reaching. The hotel is dated and sadly not being taken care of - it looks tattered and worn from the outside and while there are moments of great inside, it needs some reinvesting in. The beach club is a whole other disaster I mention below.
When we checked in, there was live music happening that was so loud it made it impossible to hear the lovely gentleman at the front desk. He did tell us they upgraded our room which was nice. The room itself, didn’t feel like an upgrade. It was a “suite” which was 2 rooms but cold, sparsely furnished and very dated. As we got into our stay, it wasn’t just dated, things were broken (the ATM) and it just seemed like one thing after another. First, the shuttle to the “beach club” which we were told about upon check in and given a schedule for was broken and instead of informing the guests, there was a group of us sitting outside the lobby waiting and waiting until I finally went in to inquire and the young woman at the desk told me the large bus was broken and there was a smaller one making rounds and would be there soon. Not once did she mention (or anyone) that the pickup was not right out front but around the corner where there was ANOTHER uninformed group waiting that got on the small van forcing us to wait another 20 minutes. 45 minutes later, we were shuttled to a parking lot where we walked down a path to not a beach club but a small pool with a snack bar and cafe. We were told at check in to get towels from the pool at the hotel or the beach club, when we asked they refused and said we had to get them at the hotel. No one on our shuttle had towels from the hotel so it wasn’t just us AND the gentleman told me, quite rudely, that he’d “tell the hotel again but he doesn’t know how many times he can keep telling them” and that was that.

Hotel Tivoli Lagos is my home away from home. Rafael, a very friendly and welcoming front desk employee, a super clean bedroom, a very comfortable bed, beautiful garden view and a platter with fruits awaiting for me upon my arrival are the reason I always choose this hotel while staying in Lagos.

The staff were very polite and efficient. The location of the hotel is very convenient to the bus station and the beach. Breakfast had many choices and was replenished regularly. The breakfast area was spacious and very comfortable. During the high season I can imagine it would be packed but this time of year there were not many people which was nice.
The layout of the hotel was a bit confusing but there was a lot of open space which made up for it. The carpet was worn in some places but it was barely noticeable. My only real complaint was that there was a lot of noise from the heating unit.

Lovely place. Very comfortable and clean. Lots if facilities like pools and gyms (but I didn’t use them. Breakfast is included and is very extensive, lots of choices. Room was large and bed was very comfortable. Staff were extremely helpful and friendly. Car patking is available.

This was an expansive resort in a very good location in the old town, a short walk from the train station and marina, where the boat tours originate. The breakfast buffet had every possible appeal to tourists from a broad variety of places, from an English breakfast to natural granola with spirulina, turmeric, and psyllium, to waffles and honeycomb. Wow.
Our first room had electrical issues, the plugs did not stay in, the doors and floors were slightly rotted. We attained a new room that was much better. Some boards on the pool deck needed replacing and the pool sign read “poo”.

Stopped by on a bike tour of the Algarve region. Hotel is located conveniently to eurovelo 1 and the old town Lagos. Staff were welcoming. I was able to store my bike securely in a locked room.
Breakfast buffet was exceptional. 7:30-10:30.
Room was comfortable and quiet.
The hot tub at the spa was lukewarm. Still pleasant but not really hot.

We were here in December and had a great stay. The hotel was just up the hill from old town and close to everything. Indoor pool was a nice and the facilities were great for our use. The rooms and hallways are a little outdated but didnt bother us at all. Breakfast was excellent with a ton of options and the staff was friendly and helpful.
