Convenient location to walk to Old Town, the Marina and other neighborhoods. Our room was very large with a separate sitting area from the bedroom. The staff were friendly and parking was easily accessed in a lot next to the hotel. The breakfast was very good with many options. The restaurant on site, Pateo Velho, was excellent: ambience, service and food were all outstanding.
The hotel is tired and could use some upgrading. The carpets are worn and stained. The room was barebones had no charm: no artwork, tired furniture. There was no bidet, robes or other features that make staying in a hotel for a few nights very comfortable.

The property is very spread out with steps. Nothing can be done to change that but if it is an issue, you might want to see if you can get a room closer to the main entrance

The hotel itself was lovely. The breakfast that ws included was very good.
Our room was in a very remote location at the resort. In fairness, I went back to the booking and it did say that in fine print on the booking that I did not see. The room was so remote you had to take multiple stairs and multiple elevators to get to it. Once arrived, it had a very different ambiance that the hotel proper. Almost like staying in the low budget section of a resort. The room was adequate for our needs I guess but as previously stated, very different and low budget compared to the rest of the hotel.

Great location, fantastic breakfast very helpful staff.,
The only negative was they offered a shuttle to go to there beach club and charged 15 euros for a chaise lounge to sit by the pool not mentioned before we left.

Bar tender did not want to give us ice in a cup. We had no phone in our room to call for room service. In the end I had to go to the bar tender twice to get a small cup of ice and he had to call for permission. Ridiculous

Large, clean room. Good facilities including bar, restaurants, pool towels. Buffet breakfast was varied, plentiful and service was good. Great views from balcony.
Shower gel dispenser was empty on arrival and only one towel left in bathroom on second day but this was quickly rectified by reception.

Hotel stars should be re-evaluated each year - I can absolutely see how this WAS a 4-star hotel but to claim that presently is reaching. The hotel is dated and sadly not being taken care of - it looks tattered and worn from the outside and while there are moments of great inside, it needs some reinvesting in. The beach club is a whole other disaster I mention below.
When we checked in, there was live music happening that was so loud it made it impossible to hear the lovely gentleman at the front desk. He did tell us they upgraded our room which was nice. The room itself, didn’t feel like an upgrade. It was a “suite” which was 2 rooms but cold, sparsely furnished and very dated. As we got into our stay, it wasn’t just dated, things were broken (the ATM) and it just seemed like one thing after another. First, the shuttle to the “beach club” which we were told about upon check in and given a schedule for was broken and instead of informing the guests, there was a group of us sitting outside the lobby waiting and waiting until I finally went in to inquire and the young woman at the desk told me the large bus was broken and there was a smaller one making rounds and would be there soon. Not once did she mention (or anyone) that the pickup was not right out front but around the corner where there was ANOTHER uninformed group waiting that got on the small van forcing us to wait another 20 minutes. 45 minutes later, we were shuttled to a parking lot where we walked down a path to not a beach club but a small pool with a snack bar and cafe. We were told at check in to get towels from the pool at the hotel or the beach club, when we asked they refused and said we had to get them at the hotel. No one on our shuttle had towels from the hotel so it wasn’t just us AND the gentleman told me, quite rudely, that he’d “tell the hotel again but he doesn’t know how many times he can keep telling them” and that was that.

Disappointing
My mom and I recently stayed at Tivoli Lagos and one of the highlights of our stay was the breakfast. We opted for the included breakfast, and it was definitely worth it. The buffet offered a good variety of dishes and everything was fresh. The only minor downside was that the selection was similar each day but still tasty. We also appreciated the bird control measures on the patio, which made our breakfast outdoors more pleasant.
The hotel overall feels a bit dated and could benefit from some renovation. Some areas, like the elevator, are small and make concerning noises. I would also say that the rooms are smaller than expected for the price paid, and the layout doesn’t leave much space especially with large luggage.
Additionally, the gap under the door is quite wide, which raises security concerns, especially for solo female travelers.
The shuttle to the beach was late on the way there and left 15 minutes early on the way back, forcing us to walk back to the hotel. In conclusion, while the staff was friendly, these issues impacted our experience, and we would suggest the hotel consider some improvements.
