Wonderful
We were very satisfied with our stay. The hotel has a great location, convenient parking facilities, and comfortable, well-equipped rooms. Everything was pleasant and convenient, making our stay very enjoyable. We would definitely recommend this hotel.
Due to its location, there can occasionally be some inconsiderate noise from people passing by on the street late at night, but of course, this is not the hotel's fault.

Central location.
Had a balcony and refrigerator.

Mold in bathroom.
Tub/shower felt dangerous.
Balcony faces another building that can see in so must keep blinds closed.
Loud at night.
Water in hall always empty.
Run down.
Bedside lights didn't work.
Laundry service not working - had to go to a separate business.
Too expensive for this level of venue.

I would have liked for them to provide disposable slippers in the room and bathroom—for the sake of hygiene and to prevent guests from walking across the entire room in their outdoor shoes.
The drinking fountain at the entrance usually didn't have water; it would be great to always have hot and cold water available there.

Location right inside the walled portion of the city near tourist areas with lots of shops and restaurants and historical sights. Also near enough to walk to the hike out to Ponta da Piedade, which we did and enjoyed. Room was well lit at night and the bed mattress seemed quite new and good quality. The air conditioner worked well. The included breakfast was surprisingly good in a spacious buffet room.
Despite being on floor 2 (3rd floor in American) and being there in a shoulder season, the noise from partiers walking by was very loud and went into the early hours of the morning, making it tough to sleep at a reasonable hour. The balcony sliding glass doors are thin with poor seals so outside noise was not muffled at all. There were a variety of maintenance issues - the sliding glass doors on the balcony did not latch or lock at all and the glass was cracked. We had to close the rolling shutters to feel secure in the room. The toilet seat was not secured to the toilet at all on one side and slid around. The in-room safe said that the front desk needed to be consulted for use for some reason. None of these items were show stoppers for us, but they were disappointing. In terms of priorities for us, better room sound proofing from the street noise would make the most difference in the enjoyability of the room. Also, note there is very limited parking, just 5 or 6 spots directly in front of the hotel. No other parking available anywhere near by and the nearest big parking lots are outside the walled part of the city, so that's something to plan for. This actually affected some of our planning as we did not want to lose our parking spot in front of the hotel while we were there.

Cleanliness, location, good buffet breakfast
Parking is limited space for 5 cars but is not a big deal. Free outdoor public parking about 5-10 minutes walking. Much easier plus nice walk to parking.

The hotel is in the center of old town, which means it does not have quiet rooms, all the drunk tourists shout till 05.00 AM very day, on some days with engagement of police, so we could not sleep a single night, despite changing 3 rooms. The hotel is extremely old, and the rooms are extremely small, e.g. there is no place to open 2 suitcases, the windows are almost broken and I do not want to mention the anti-hygienic state of bathrooms, which can easily cause several skin diseases. The pics of booking do not correspond to the reality at all. The hotel spoiled our overall impression of not only Lagos but overall Portugal:(

Nice breakfast and room, a cozy place to stay.
Very noisy. Street next to the hotel is super loud, a lot of music and people. You can hear everything inside the room. Also the noise from corridors is easily heard from the room. Doors don't close very nicely, so we woke up to a loud bang during a couple of nights.

The pictures on the booking page looked nice, but our room was completely different. The location is great — right in the old city center.
We booked what looked like a nice room with a balcony based on the photos. However, when we arrived, we were given a ground-floor room with only a tiny 30 cm window instead of a balcony.
The room was dark, and the air conditioning barely worked. Since this trip was for our anniversary, we decided not to stay and moved to another hotel rather than spoil the celebration with an uncomfortable stay.
