Beautiful room
Love the balcony and very quiet
We had an early departure and hotel offered to make us a lunch to go since we could not attend the buffet. Lunch could have been tended to much more nicely. Sandwiches were a slab of ham and cheese on white bread and some fruit and juice. The lunch could have been done more with care to compare to the beautiful buffet.

This is a fantastic hotel. About a five minute walk to the beach, one of the best breakfast buffets I’ve ever had (including Portuguese specialties), excellent facilities, comfortable room & above all, a fabulous, welcoming staff!

The breakfast included with our room was wonderful and actually necessary since the hotel wasn’t near other restaurants. (Except one local pub which was good for
Lunch ). The hotel was near the boardwalk trails, which was nice but the walk to town took about 15 minutes but with hills. A Bolt ride was generally 4-5€. Our room with the kitchenette was very spacious and we loved the big, private terrace. Each complex had its own pool.
The pool was actually not very warm, which we found surprising since it had all summer to warm up. A solar cover would help and be very appreciated. It would also be nice
If the had a hotel shuttle service to take you to town that would be excellent. They seem to have the van already.

Cute little villa/ apt. Ours was down the street from the main building. Very clean, our property had its own pool. Breakfast was back at the main property but was an easy 5 minute walk away. Breakfast was really good! Staff was helpful and friendly. Easily wall into old town, to the beaches and boardwalk.

The proximity to the beaches is great! It’s a 10 minute walk to 2 beaches. Additionally, it’s not too far from town; approximately 20 min walk. The breakfast is delish!! They have many options! The staff is very friendly!!

When we first got to our room (#500) I noticed a/c wasn’t working properly. I asked Miguel to take a look. When he came into the room he raised his hand to check the temperature coming out of the unit and pronounced it as just fine. I told him that I didn’t feel like the air conditioning was working properly. He removed the batteries from the remote, put them back in and said it was working just fine.
I could tell that there was no way this was going to get fixed and asked if we could change rooms. Miguel switched us to room 51. We went from a full kitchen in room #500, to a room (#51) with a hot plate, sink and a dorm size refrigerator with none of the amenities of the real kitchen in room 500.
Every room in our current space was much smaller including the “living room,” kitchen, bedroom and bathroom. The whole effect was pretty depressing. Unfortunately for us our first night just got better as when I took a shower, the drain was clogged and the bathroom completely flooded.
To add insult to injury, the water in our shower never got hot and would cycle between warm and cold approximately every ten seconds.
I tried calling reception to make sure that this got addressed in the morning and despite calling three times received no answer.
When I walked in the office the following day and introduced myself to Sarah, she was not remotely friendly and made no effort at all to apologize for the inconvenience we’d incurred.
I expressed to her that I didn’t feel like the rooms were remotely similar in size, amenities and general comfort, much less aesthetics.
Continuation of review:
The only communication she engaged in was insisting to me that the rooms were the same class and the same cost. As you can tell from the pictures that is a bit of a stretch. This is a little like insisting that a new BMW is in the same class as a tired old Renault and that they should cost exactly the same.
Reluctantly, she said she would extend us a $70 adjustment (on a $717 bill), because of the bathroom drain not working and the bathroom floor flooding. She extended this discount in nothing less than a begrudging fashion and treated me a surprising level of coolness.
I sent three messages to Sarah in my attempt to get the hot water situation resolved and she completely ignored my messages and we didn’t have hot water for the three days of our stay.
On the following day. I stopped by the office to try and get something we left behind during our move from room 500 to room 51. Sarah barely acknowledged and did a good job of giving me the cold shoulder once again.
It was bad enough that our room made for a very unpleasant experience, but the way we were treated by Sarah really capped things off.
I shouldn’t have been surprised, but the morning of our checkout I got our bill and there was no mention of the $70 discount and I had to send three emails to the director Rui to get that straightened out.

This is by far the best complimentary breakfast I've ever experienced in my life. Check-in was super easy, I loved how there was complimentary parking right next to the property dedicated for hotel guests only. The bed was very comfortable and it's in a quiet area so was not disturbed at all by noise at night. Out of all the places we stayed during our 2 weeks in Portugal, this was by far the best - we will definitely recommend and be staying here again.
Only issue (but was outside of the hotel's hands) was the construction nearby closed off a few roads so the walk to downtown was a bit longer that it usually would take.

There should be more control at the spa to make sure there is no issues going on. I was very uncomfortable when I got there because a man and his girlfriend were completely naked in the sauna. The girlfriend covered herself when she saw me, but the man paraded naked hiding only the front, when going from the pool to the hammam and back to the pool, ack to the hammam and then to the sauna. I didn't dare going to the reception to complain as I was on holidays and just wanted positive energy, but having someone coming sometimes would be better to avoid this kind of situations.
Also, having more snacks in the fridge other than drinks would be great for consumption.

The room near the spa had a stench in it.
It was addressed with staff. Nothing came of it. I would have extended my stay, but the smell was too much. My friend had a studio with a kitchen and it was great in another building.
The facility put an air freshener in the hall of my building and room to mask the horrid smell. It's not great for someone w allergies.FLOOR is concrete. The beds are super.
Definitely, as a solo traveler, do not stay in grey building the front door does not latch properly, and it remains open. It However, it is a quiet and safe area.
The plus is the location, quiet and close to hiking trail along the beach. You can walk to Lagos 1km.Resturant is superbe.
