The pool facilities are brilliant, it was the reason I chose the hotel as I have an 8 year old. Both pools are so nice, they are large, clean and always had free loungers and towels on hand whatever time of the day you turned up. The pool team serving drinks and food were great as well. We didn't even use the pool in the Spa as there wasn't the need. The choice of restaurants was great-buffet, gastro pub and Antonio's by the sand pool was lovely for lunch. The 2 bedroom apartment was a great size and we had 2 ensuite and an extra toilet. We were given 2 large bottles of water every day which was a nice touch. The whole resort had a really nice chilled vibe. It was great to walk to the lighthouse and the beaches (the shortcut is not for young children/elderly- would need to take the road)
The sofa in the apartment was stained so we covered it with the bed throw to hide it. I guess overall it needs some painting (walls) to really set it as a 5 star. For me it is a very good 4 star. However I was told the hotel is closing from Oct 26 to June 27 having a huge uplift so it should be super nice. Be interesting to compare prices 2027 vs 2026.
We didn't realise the driving range is no longer so that was a bit of a shame for us but not a deal breaker at the end of the day.

Wonderful
The facilities were great! Wonderful pool area. And the spa pool and hot tub was extremely relaxing. We loved that the property backed up right on to the cliffs overlooking the sea. You could walk right out the gate on to miles of amazing boardwalks!! Also the buffet breakfast AND dinner exceeded expectations.

It all went very well, the staff were always on top of job, always wanting to serve and please the guest. Property was neat and clean. The Italian restaurant, Antonio's, is a hidden treasure, excellent wait staff, great chef, and af course the food was excellent. The front desk staff made the stay very easy, there are never any problems, always solutions, thank you for making our stay a pleasure!
The breakfast was a little chaotic. wait staff was bussing the tables and bringing drinks. Dedicated staff bussing tables so the waitstaff can focus on bringing drinks and serving the tables.

Rooms were clean, staff were friendly, easy access to endless trails along the coastline. Breakfast buffet had a great variety of foods to choose from. We ate dinner a few times on property and it was delicious.
Location to beach was a bit of a hike especially when the temperature was in the high 30’s.

Our family had the pleasure of staying at Cascade Wellness Resort from July 8th to July 15th, and it was truly the highlight of our trip to Portugal. From the moment we arrived until the day we left, every aspect of our stay exceeded our expectations.
The resort itself is absolutely beautiful, impeccably clean, and incredibly well maintained. The staff were consistently kind, welcoming, and attentive, always going above and beyond to make sure we had everything we needed. Our room was spotless every day, and the room service was excellent throughout our stay.
Traveling with a one-year-old can sometimes be challenging, but the children's pool and beach area were exceptionally clean, safe, and well cared for, making it easy for our family to relax and enjoy ourselves. As someone who enjoys working out while traveling, I was also impressed with the gym—it had everything I needed, including free weights, barbells, and a great variety of machines.
What truly made our stay unforgettable, however, were the incredibly thoughtful surprises the staff prepared for our family.
We arrived on my birthday (July 8th), and walking into our room to find a bottle of champagne and a beautiful birthday cake waiting for me was such a wonderful and unexpected gesture. It immediately made us feel so welcomed and appreciated.
Then came the biggest surprise of all. During our stay, we celebrated our baby boy's first birthday. After returning from a stroll through the old town, we opened our room to find the most heartwarming celebration waiting for us. The staff had prepared beautiful custom cupcakes, a birthday cake with our son's name on it, and even a personalized onesie made especially for him. These thoughtful touches meant more to us than words can express and created memories our family will cherish forever.
A very special thank you to Sara and the entire team at Cascade Wellness Resort for making our holiday so memorable.
Honestly I can’t really think of anything. I had a wonderful stay.

The swimming pools were nice and clean.
The rooms were dated and not well equipped. For example the shower handle was broken and the iron was old and bearly worked.
They also consider kids above the age of 12 as adults and require an extra 80 euro per day charge.

The size of the room and accessibility for those who are mobility-challenged were great! We booked a 2-bedroom apartment that comfortably slept 4 adults. The beds were super comfortable. We loved the outdoor veranda sitting area in the morning. They have three pools: one is a sandy bottom pool, unheated, one is a heated swimming pool that closed when the spa closed, and one is the main pool, unheated.
We weren't informed that construction from a new development was right next to our building. This meant that our restful spa vacation was constantly inundated with loud construction noise. This caused issues with our elderly mother who had migraines from the noise the entire time we were in the room. The resort also doesn't have direct beach access, so we needed to either walk approximately 20 minutes to the nearest beach, or drive 10 minutes to the local public beach.

Before our visit to Lagos, I did A LOT of research on places to stay. My spouse has his routines, and I needed a place that met those needs: free parking for our rental car, [the valet service was a great perk!] breakfast & free coffee readily accessible, access to walking trails and scenic views, easy access to Lagos, and a quiet night environment for sleep. He was very, very pleased with all those elements at Cascade Wellness Resort, and the size of our room, the walk-in shower, the variety of breakfast options, and the convenience of its location.
The 'warm water pool' wasn't warm at all. It was quite cold. The jacuzzi wasn't working, with only a 4-person hot tub available. I inquired about the exercise classes, but was directed to the web page. It was confusing because the website didn't show any times indicating days/times or availability. I inquired again with reception. I was told I could walk over to the gym to inquire about the schedule. I saw groups of women with yoga mats, but I had no idea how to sign up. I went to the gym during their open hours, but I couldn't find any schedule or staff member. On the day of our departure, I was looking at a table with information, and there was a printout of the schedule. I wish someone had told me it was there instead of wasting my time trying to figure out how to access the classes.

Dinner at the Gastropub was fantastic and greatly exceeded expectations for a hotel restaurant.
Breakfast was good.
Great walking paths, but the beach access is a hike.
We had a ground floor room with a "view" facing towards the pool, but wouldn't have called it a "pool view" since we couldn't really see it... but it wasn't facing the parking lot either.

The staff and front desk personnel who were so helpful! Ana and Soria in particular were very responsive and responded to my emails months ahead of time.
The pools were great, food was good! The gym had a good variety of machines. Breakfast was delicious.
The mixed cocktails were too expensive, more than here in the USA.
Housekeeping came very late in the afternoon.

We don’t really have much choice on the restaurant. But to use the hotel’s. There are only 2 restaurants. Only one serves dinner .
