the sun loungers are not that comfortable and need more parasols.. and more free water should be placed in the rooms :)

The grounds and exterior are beautiful. The gardens and pools are perfectly maintained. The complex is close to many great restaurants outside the hotel within a few minutes. It was also easy to take the bus or taxi to the old town. You can even walk. There is a big supermarket on the side of the hotel plus many small grocery stores nearby. The food was very good in the restaurants so we did not cook. The breakfast at the hotel had a lot of selection.
The interior hallways and rooms are very outdated. There is a big contrast by how new the exterior of the hotel looks and how old the rooms are. But they are well maintained and comfortable.

What is there not to like! Excellent location, very spacious family room. Free parking provided. Swimming pool and facilities are fantastic. Breakfast - huge variety. Super friendly and helpful staff. Ill be staying here again on my next visit to Madeira.
Little bit noisy at night from bars opposite side of the road. Music stopped at 11pm so cant really complain.

Great hotel for relaxation. Breakfast and dinner in the buffet restaurant Atlantida was very good, as was lunch at the pool bar. Accommodation was very good, lovely big comfy beds, showers excellent. Didnt need the kitchenette in the end as half board. Very easy to lounge by the pool all day if feeling lazy. Easy to walk into Funchal for a wander and get a taxi or bus back, or if you hire a car like we did, so many incredible places to explore. Hotel has free parking. The Spa was excellent, can definitely recommend.
There is plenty of sun beds, if none free right by the pool then they are dotted round the gardens so that was good, though as shade lovers we struggled occasionally to find a spot with an umbrella that was movable so we could get in the shade. Also it would be an added bonus if there was perhaps more acoustic variety in the music in the evenings, some Fado perhaps? We love to swim in the sea but travelled to other places in the island to find beautiful swimming spots.

Close to the ocean. Nice pools. The reception convinced us to change our room in order for us to get an early check in, which was a nice gesture, but I think our original room would have been better.
our sliding door wouldnt lock and we called and it was fixed efficiently.
We were celebrating our Anniversary and they had a bottle of wine, flowers and a card for us.
The halls had a must odour- I think the carpets need to be replaced. The bathroom had a constant odour, maybe from the old wood doors and trim. The pillows were uncomfortable.
The breakfast buffet had lots of quantity but poor quality.
Location is a little far from the city centre of Funchal, 35 min walk, which we did once, but then we took a taxi.

It would be great if one of the hotels in this group complex offered guaranteed adjoining rooms so that a family of 5 could stay together. Everything else was exceptional
