The location is excellent—the airport bus stops right in front of the hotel. There are also three small supermarkets, some good restaurants, and another intercity bus stop just a short walk away. Moreover, except at my arrival, all the other staff I encountered were friendly.
From my experience with 4-star hotels, the quality of the facilities and services felt below that standard. Breakfast was decent, though the savory choices were limited. The pool is quite small and only 1.5 meters deep. Moreover, during my stay I requested room cleaning twice, but each time only the bed was made, while the floor wasn’t cleaned.

The room was spacious, clean and comfortable. The hotel itself is nice and the pool area with a bar is perfect for a little cool-down and relaxation. The hotel is located in a good area with loads of shops, restaurants and bars. Parking is convenient under the hotel. Breakfast was decent but the selection was a little limited (e.g. no vegetables at all) and there was no espresso just instant coffee pre-made in jugs.
Breakfast selection could be better, I especially missed proper coffee but this is really a small detail :)

The hotel pool was fantastic and pristine. The staff was also helpful and polite. Good location and parking in a garage for a low rate right under the hotel. The cleaning staff always was able to come through and tidy up our room while we were out.
The facilities and rooms are old and need updating. The photos presented on this listing do not accurately show the rooms. The bathrooms in each space are especially in need of work. The beds were very hard.

Great location: close to the ocean; Funchal center is within walking distance; if needed - bus stop is in front of the hotel, etc. Breakfast is sufficient; many places to eat around. Room is clean, comfortable. Good quality Wi-Fi. I must also mention the received surprise: the hotel staff congratulated me on the Birthday with a bottle of delicious sparkling wine.

Everything it didn’t reflect the photos and room is street facing with noise of traffic. Old and dingy. Everything was misleading due to nice lobby and pool but room was not up to standards.

It was clean, close to the Lido, professionally staffed around the clock. Staff were friendly and always helpful with good English. Included breakfast was a good start to a day discovering.
It was further from the Lido than expected, behind a noisy and busy road. There is very little to do if it rains, no activity room or hot tub and the pool was unheated, very cold in spring. The room decor was sparse and uninspiring. The breakfast room was echoey and loud at times.

The hotel is really nice, with a good breakfast and good amenities.
The room had a bit of dust and since I'm allergic the stay wasn't pleasant. Also our room was on the last floor and was very hot with lack of air renovation.

One staff member was not too accommodating. You ask her one question and the answer was a quick “no” or “I don’t know”. However the rest of the staff, Alison and Ema were great.

Great hotel and location. Food was fab and just a little cold. Staff were lovely especially Sophia on reception and Melinda on restuarant and bar duties. Roof top barand pool was great also
All in all i'd go back. Theres lots of nice restuarants across the road on in the LIDO area.
The main issue was the softy beds but thats personal choice. The other was inconsiderate guests talking loud at night and in the morning in the halls.
