The gardens, pool, food, service and massage were all exceptional. We stayed for three nights but the hotel is so relaxing we felt as if we were there for a week.

This is such a beautiful hotel that I can't express with words. Very nice and comfortable room, amazing garden (much more beautiful than botanical or other gardens in funchal). What impressed me besides the beauty of the hotel was very high standard of service combined with attention and kindness of the staff.
The best hotel I have stayed (I have been in a lot of very good hotels)I Looking forward to come back soon.

The gardens are a paradise of flowers and trees and birdsong. It feels like staying in a country house. There is a real feeling of the history of the place. The staff could not be more helpful and friendly.
It is above Funchal, maybe 35 minutes' walk uphill from the street with the best restaurants. You may want to take a taxi at the end of the day.

Lovely hotel in amazing large grounds , staff were fantastic in many ways . So helpful with suggestions etc.
Room spacious and lovely terrace .
Pool just right .
I think the food was great however if staying any time it’s good to try different restaurants , the staff will recommend and the shuttle takes you down town .
It is quite a way from town centre , too far to walk .

Wow…what a beautiful property! It is more than just a place to stay, it is also a tour theough an amazing botanical garden! The grounds are superb, the tortoise, Colombo is sweet, the food is fabulous, the view of Funchal is amazing, the rooms are spacious and lovely, the staff is professional and helpful…it is a wonderful place to stay!!!

The room was big and airy with the balcony overlooking the beautiful gardens. Cleaned every day to very high standard. Staff were friendly and very helpful at all times. Breakfast was incredible.
Shame it's up a hill, but that's Funchal! Need a taxi to get to town but that wasn't a problem as Bolt was very quick and the hotel had a free shuttle bus during the day.

In good situation high above Funchal town .The property has extensive well planted and maintained gardens that you can wander around at ease .

The surrounding gardens are exquisite and we really appreciated the plant guide provided
The staff are wonderful and couldn't be more helpful
The shuttle bus was great, would have been good to have one or 2 evening services
We found the meals lacked something.. but maybe that's just us!

Quinta Jardins do Lago is a haven of tranquillity in a busy city. The gardens are simply beautiful. There is a lovely pool, wonderful staff and comfortable rooms. What's not to like?
