The hotel is in a very nice neighborhood and has a parking garage. Our room had a nice ocean view over the pool area. The breakfast offered a lot of variety. The staff are professional and accommodating. This is a resort hotel so typical in Portugal in coastal areas. It offers its guests an affordable vacation stay and amenities that allow guests to stay at the resort if they choose not to venture into the local area, such as a variety of nightly entertainment and dining options.
The hotel is a bit tired; worn stained hallway carpets, worn furniture in the room - the sofa cushion was split open with the stuffing coming out - and the bed was very hard.

Hotel is in a good location in Funchal. Ocean was in the front with a great walkway around the shoreline. It was nice to have breakfast and dinner on location without deciding where to eat while we were there for 8 days. Facility were decent. Parking is available on site.
I wouldn't say this is a 5 star hotel. I believe the rating of hotels in Madeira is based on what the amenities that are offered to qualify to be a 5 star hotel. I have stayed in other 5 star hotels, and the service/amenities were not even comparable. The negative part we experienced at the hotel was dinner. Our package was for room, breakfast and dinner. I am not a drinker but would like to have a glass of water for dinner but I was forced to pay for a bottle of water at dinner. Which made no sense. At breakfast, juices, and water was provided but at dinner it was like a sales tactic to buy any type of beverages. The hotel did take care of this issue but it left a negative impression on our stay. The decor of the room needs more personality, no pictures. Very sterile. Also the bathroom shower had a full size window with blinds that was between the room and shower. Very strange and outdated.

Spacious room which was shiny clean, friendly staff, nice location and nice restaurants nearby. Short over the sea promenade is also a plus.
I don’t find bath tubes in hotels to be something nice.

Centrally located hotel. Fresh fruits at breakfast.
Parking was full, so we had to find free spots on the street. Fortunately, found the parking spot every night just outside the hotel, though it will still be paid parking. Coffee at breakfast wasnt very good.

Our room had a large balcony and ocean view. The outdoor pool area and bar was a great place to relax. The nightly music was great. The location of the hotel to the waterfront restaurants and ocean swimming areas is outstanding.
The air conditioning in our room was poor and our room was always warm. Staff suggested we make sure our balcony door was properly locked and we did this to no avail. The AC unit was always running but the room temperature was always warm. It prevented us from having a good nights sleep.
