Wonderful
The room was very clean and the staff at the reception was very helpful. We were generally very happy with the hotel. The location is also fine if you dont mind to walk for a bit, as it is close to main bus connections. The small gesture of welcoming wine made us happy :)
The only small thing was the the attitude of the dinner waiters/waitresses. We felt like we have to get some of the extras (beverages) to have a positive attitude on service to our table (altough the dinner was 30 EUR itself)

Deluxe rooms were beautiful and comfortable. Breakfast was an excellent spread, even scrambled eggs were great and unlike the rubbery eggs you typically get at breakfast buffets. Pool and view is true to pictures. Having free access to spa was a bonus and very much appreciated after a long hike.
It was slightly out of the way from central Funchal but definitely walkable if you didn't mind hills. We were often too tired after day hiking so drive into town instead. If you have a car this is a good location as it's close to highways. I prefer this location to the big hotels on the 'Hotel strip' where it felt very touristy.

I had coffee machine in the room however without coffee caps. I asked separately for them, and exceptionally got them. This was a bit confusing, better not to provide coffee machine if capsules are not available in standard room

We absolutely loved our stay! The rooms were comfortable, and the spa facilities were absolutely amazing!
They could have explained the cleaning/refund policy better. They refund you a few euros each day you don't get your room cleaned. We stayed for five days and didn't get the room cleaned once (we placed the do not clean tag on the door), but when we went to check out, they said we had to let them know in advance in order to get the refund. Wish they were clearer regarding this process.

The room is huge. Balcony and the view is incredible, that is true. Also a bottle of wine was really nice. Breakfast was good. The design of the room is quite outdated.
We arrived quite in the evening and asked gentlemen if room service is working, he assured us that there is no rush and we have an extra hour however when we called room service they told us that there is no room service at this time and they can offer us snacks at the bar ( like olives and cheese). I believe that receptionist should know the working ours of their departments.

Location and 'Views' were great. This hotel is all about the spa and the pools!!!
I was in a studio room with a kitchenette. These seem to be away from the main part of the hotel and meant that it overlooked the car park and was just above ground level, I also didn't realise that this didn't have spa access. The staff kindly sorted this for me. Next time I would book a Superior room with sea views - I tried to upgrade once I had checked in and saw the room but none were available. Overall though was great.

Friendly and helpful personel. Free parking. The spa was included in our room price. Really good breakfast and if just asking it was possible to get earlier breakfast without any problems.
Not bad in any way because we knew it was a walk from the city centre to the hotel but if you are not familiar with Madeira and Funchal it is good to be aware that the hotel is 60+ meters uphill.

Great hotel, comfortable and modern.
Comfortable bed and pillows.
Breakfast was various and tasty. Gluten free options available, alternative milks also.
Spa was great, massage too.
Clean and spacious gym.
You need to pay extra for many things for example bath robes (9 eur each), no free water, no sleepers.
Only 1 shampoo which is also shower gel, no conditioner, take yours.
I would appreciate to have body lotion in the spa and room.
Spa bathroom stinked.
No iron in the room.

Overall, I was quite satisfied with the hotel. Rooms were soundproof, or at least my neighbours were quiet. The view was stunning, the best part of this hotel. The bed was comfortable, the room was clean, and the gym was really nice.
Breakfast wasnt the best though, I had had bigger expectations. Fruits were nice, lots of cheese, not a big variety of pastry, typical English breakfast which I am not a big fan of. Breakfast could have been better. Didnt have dinner there, so cannot say anything about it.

As soon as we walked in, we were absolutely wowed! This hotel is definitely 5*. The reception, bar, restaurant, pools & spa were all just totally amazing . Having that spa to come back to after a full days hiking was perfect. The variety of treatments and the amount of different options in the actual spa was great, from a four seasons shower to the ice bucket shower and then the best Turkish baths Ive been in!
The hotel is a short walk from the centre of Funchal which is handy and all tour operators were happy to collect us from the door.
The room wasnt quite as modern and plush as the rest of the hotel but it was very clean, spacious and totally comfy.
As for the food, just yum! Great variety for breakfast and dinner. So much seafood!
Happy Hour in the Woogie Boogie bar was great - we sampled all of the cocktails and wowza!!! The entertainment each night was fantastic and the view of the city is the finishing touch.
The staff are second to none; so helpful and very friendly!
The only recommendations I have (and this is only because I like to be totally honest) are:
All food must be labelled in the restaurant (everything tastes so good but I wanted to know what everything was).
There was a slight smell from the sink drain in our room.
Wine & water that were left in the room for us shouldve been labelled with a price as we thought they were a welcome gift.
Thank you for a wonderful stay and for our upgraded room.
We will definitely be back to The Views

The staff were very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was amazing. The spa treatments were the best Ive experienced, everything was very clean.
