Within walking distance of all the good stuff in Funchal. Outstanding breakfast buffet complete with Champaign and Bloody Marys.
Parking was tight.

We liked the amenities, the spa was an amazing touch and the hotel was beautiful!
The price of laundry and cleaning was very high. Out balcony smelled of sewage and the food was very mediocre

The customer relations manager and most of the receptionist were kind, wanted to help and were very friendly, it was the best part of our stay!
The place was clean and well maintained.
Food at the pool bar was great.
Dinner was extremely disappointing, paying 33eur for poor quality food, we ended up not eating most of it, and had to add 3eur for a small water bottle which wasn’t included.
Breakfast was ok overall.
However, everywhere it felt like the hotel is trying to get you to spend extras - water at diner, usage of the luggage weight, hidden details about extra charges until you use them.
And when you are entitled for something, like extra dishes at breakers for deluxe room, they’d hide it too unless you’d ask.
This environments has eventually ruined our last day there.

The quest didn't use the towels in dry sauna. Staff should educate guests on how to use a dry sauna because it's currently very unhygienic for people to sweat on the benches. Disgusting!

This was our favorite hotel on our 2 week trip. The views are awesome. The staff was friendly. The room was incredibly cozy and spacious (we did have a deluxe room). The food was pretty good, buffet breakfast had lots of options. Since we had the deluxe package we had deluxe breakfast included, but we actually preferred the buffet. The island is awesome and this provided a nice home base for our 5 days in Madeira. Would recommend to anyone.

The view is great, however, it is adjacent to a main street.
Rooms are good. Spa is okay.
For our taste, the location was too decentral, it was a rough 10 to 15 minute walk to get to downtown downhill (and uphill back). The main street in front of the building is very noisy, and sitting on the balcony isnt as enjoyable as we thought it would be.

Location is good for any trips. The overall design of the hotel is cosy and comfy. Nothing special but good. Welcome wine/champagne and bites/sweets we appreciated a lot. Pillow menu is a great thing too. We enjoyed the spa with its daybeds...
The room was a bit small. No space for luggage. The height of the room is a bit oppressive. Staff at the reception was very helpful. Staff in the restaurant not professional. Coffee at breakfast is poor quality.

Location was great, be prepared to walk uphill from town, it was a needed walk after the Pastel de nata. Very comfortable room, shower pressure was great. We would stay here again. Top notch service. Pool towels are in your room, so bring with you to the pool.
The housekeeping form to fill out was straightforward, but their implementation of this program was poor. Could have a better ala carte menu in the evenings.

The view and the breakfast were phenomenal! The spa access was also a highlight of our stay. After a long day hiking, the sauna, Turkish bath and heated indoor pool was very good for my sore muscles. I liked the balcony also. The welcome gift of champagne and assorted foods was a nice touch for the deluxe room as well as a special seating area for breakfast reserved for our deluxe room.
The bed and sofa were too hard. The mini bar was not restocked very thoroughly during our stay. No salt in the room even though I left out an empty salt shaker by the coffee maker. I guess I should have left a note instead of it being obvious.

It was our honeymoon and we appreciated how they made it special by acknowledging it with Prosecco on ice and cheese waiting for us in the room!
We enjoyed the spa access, the views, the cleanliness and location, as well as the live music and Prosecco at breakfast

spa opening hours limited to 8PM for an adult only hotel in Madeira. Day time is generally for exploring the island, then in the evening you should enjoy the relaxing pool and spa

We stayed at this hotel during the last couple of nights of our trip in Madeira.
And it couldn't be better than that.
The view from the room was beautiful (well, after all - that's also the name of the hotel.. :)
We could actually see the impressive new year's fireworks from our balcony!
The breakfast was delicious, as well as the fabulous Desarma restaurant.
The spa had all the facilities that we needed (including heated indoor pool, Jacuzzi, sauna)
Parking was very convenient
And the staff really helped us in various requests.
HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!
Just take into account that walking back from the marina / city center to the hotel will involve a short uphill climb.

Centrally located, with free on site parking. Smooth check in and check out. Large rooms. Decent breakfast
Atmosphere lacks warmth overall. The view is nice in a way but hotel overlooks a large busy street so not ideal. It does feel like a one night stay hotel. If I’d consider again I’d look for an ocean view hotel
