Just outside of the city but the perfect place to stay. Owners are super friendly and did everything to help us make this an unforgettable stay.
The only downside for us was the hygiene, the room was not super clean but certainly not dirty either. We also understand that this was normal since we moved into the accommodation the day we booked. Furthermore, there was a strange smell in the bathroom and kitchen cabinets.

Location in middle of Banana plants but super close to Funchal and shopping center. Kitchen well equipped and bed comfortable.
Isuggest to put an heater for winter period as in the night is a bit humid. Wi fi connection not the best.

The location of the property and the helpful hosts we great. We had great view from the bedroom of the island with the ocean and the hosts were helpful when we had minor problems such a replacing an empty gas tank in the kitchen.
However there are some issues with the property that have to be addressed for comfort of future guests. The property has a very strong musk inside due to molds on the walls especially in the bedroom. The place has to aired non stop for better air quality but since there is no mosquito nets in any windows the bugs fly inside the house any time the windows are open. And for anyone that is a light sleeper there is a neighbor dog that is kept outside the house all the time and he barks non stop during the night so the place is never quiet at night. In the end I feel that the place needs to be cleaned better and the mold issue needs to be addressed for future guests.

We enjoyed our stay very much, away from crowds and surrounded by banana trees. Cosy house that had everything needed for a trip. Additionally, there’s a friendly neighbour’s dog who visited us each day.

Close to the city (with the car), quiet, nice views - ocean, among the bananas, all equipment provided, extra fresh bananas on the table

The surrounding nature was unique, the house is in the middle of banana plants. There was a private parking. The ocean view from the bed was beautiful. The host put some fresh local fruits on the table as a welcome gift.
There were a lot of bugs and mosquitoes, we couldn't ventilate because there was no mosquito net on the windows or air conditioning. The kitchen equipment was poor and used. The water was running from the shower head while used it. The apartment is tastefully furnished, but it was cheap.

The terrace with the view and the light to eat outside and the glass window to see the city lights from the bed.
It's should be nice to have things like oil, kitchen paper, laundry detergent and maybe something for mosquitos.

The terrace was wonderful and the view from it was beautiful, the room was very big and spacious, the bed was huge, the owner was very kind and gave us bananas from their plantation which were excellent, the bus stop is very close and takes you to the center of Funchal, would recommend.
The hill to the apartment takes your breath away, literally.
