Staff are exceptionally helpful and friendly. Great room with lovely view. A nice quiet hotel that’s walkable to old town (steep walk back) or Funchal centre. Bus stops just outside to centre or botanical gardens. Excellent breakfasts.

Property is secure and staff if very friendly
Stayed in room 101 for 1 night; it was properly clean, but with ants running in the kitchen area and a hallway; hotel has nice terrace with the view, that was impossible to use in the evening- all ashtrays were full and smelly, somebody left an empty wine bottle on the table; overall feeling- place is running down facility. To be fair- staff is supportive and friendly.

What a beautiful stay we had, Mia on the front desk was so lovely and welcoming. She explained everything to us and great things to see. The breakfast was lovely, fresh juices were so great to have each day. Sitting out on the balcony for breakfast in the mornings looking out to the coast was beautiful. The room was very large and had a little kitchenette too.

It was clean and the staff were mostly friendly. The location was great.
The ads gave the impression that the balcony was private but it’s not. It’s shared with the whole building and another unit. A man came onto it one night and started smoking and it filled our entire unit with smoke.
There is also not enough parking for everyone and the staff and owner fill it so up, so you may not have enough room for your car. Parking and the balcony are the primary reasons I booked this location.

An oasis just above the old town with a wonderful staff, wonderful views and a fabulous breakfast. If you like to walk note that the center of the old town is about 10 minutes downhill.

We loved that the hotel was easy to find an offered secured parking! The hotel was really interesting in that. It was attached to a historic and beautiful home. There was definitely a combination of antique and modern elements. The room was spacious well equipped with the kitchenette, and the beds were very comfortable. Nuno at reception was fantastic! He went above and beyond to make sure we were comfortable and also helped us to check on museum times and plan the rest of our day. The breakfast was delicious and service was wonderful. It was definitely not your standard buffet breakfast, but was very personal. We highly recommend this hotel and will be staying here again upon returning to Funchal.
There really wasn’t much that we didn’t like about this hotel. The only thing we noticed was that it appeared the outside needed to be re-stained, which is probably on the agenda to be done.

Staff was professional, nice and helpful. The property, especially the outdoors were very pleasant and relatively quiet. Beds were comfortable. Parking spot is very convenient.
The rooms need to be upgraded, the furniture is dated, traces of paint (?) on the wall by the bed... but most of all no outlets by the bed, nor in the bathroom who is also missing shelves to leave our toiletry.

Cosy room, nice courtyard with space to relax, possibility to have breakfast outside. Off street parking in their own parking garage which was a bit tight but better than street parking.
Just a slight minus for the location. If you spend a few nights here and want to go to town each evening then it can be a bit of a hike each time along cramped / busy roads, or take a Bolt ride though short, or take your car, but getting in and out of the garage is a bit of a hassle.
