Staff was lovely! They offered to pack me a breakfast abs meet me at 5:00 before I left on my tour.
The train line was a bit loud.

Breakfast is very good!
The place is very special. The interior is unique.
No escalator, so it’s hard to reach upper floor for old people.
The odors in the room.
Rather noisy from restaurants and traffic.
In our room #28, in the far corner on the second floor WiFi doesn’t work actually!

Fascinating, historic 2-story building. The hotel is above the restaurant/bookshop. Unbeatable location. ‘Kosher' door keys; room holds cool temperatures even when outside was around 80. spacious rooms, comfortable bed with plenty of pillows;
large bathroom with shower and PLENTY of extra towels (!!), slippers provided;
restaurant has an espresso machine so you can get coffee anytime, and I was given bottles of water whenever asked for. (I didn't have breakfast but saw a setup for another couple and it looked delicious :) )
having a tea castle and/or small microwave could be very useful (perhaps in the corridor between living room and bathroom?)

Very Good
The location is excellent. The train station did not bother us at all, it's a very light sound every now and then. The people on the square, on the tours also did not bother us.
The hotel/bookshop has a beautiful old feel to it and the decor is great with plenty of history. Our room/apartment was clean and very spacious. The cleaners came in and did their bit when needed. Also you ARE able to come and go whenever you choose regardless of the time - despite what other reviews have said. Yes the front door is locked, however it is a bookshop, hotel and restaurant in one so it makes sense and if you are coming back late all you need to do is ask for the front key. This is not a problem for them. The hotel also allowed us to leave our luggage after check out - small suitcase. The staff were polite enough, they weren't over the top and kept themselves to themselves. As a whole we very much enjoyed our stay.
Everything was great apart from the breakfast. So much that we are unsure we would come back. The service and setting and the timing for breakfast was great in the mornings but the food was not.
There should be a variety of a set menu. Or different options to pick. Unfortunately many of the things which were laid out on the table we did not enjoy. Eating brown bread and hummus for four days in a row was not sustainable. I understand the hotel is providing polish food but not giving guests any options was poor and let the hotel down. This is why we did not eat in the evening at the restaurant as we were put off by breakfast. If the hotel can change the breakfast options this place will be 10/10 but because of this we would not come back. Eating in the mornings for a city break is the most important thing, if we have breakfast and then have to eat out after we have eaten because we did not eat enough or the food was poor is enough for us to say we would not stay again. which is why we always include breakfast. The hotel did however provide a light lunch for Auschwitz when we advised we couldn't show up that morning, which was very helpful.

Pleasant
The staff, cosy place, has a book store there. If you stay there you're staying in a historic building.
Didn't like that the toilet wasn't in the same room. Also no air conditioning and it was really hot there. It was also pretty expensive for what I stayed for. Also no fridge in rooms.

Bartosz was wonderful! Accommodating, patient, pleasant, attentive, helpful. In short, a "mentsh !"
The woman who served breakfast was also wonderful and extremely pleasant.
The location could not have been better. Nor the food!
There was nothing we didn't like.

A comfortable and quirky hotel with a very good restaurant. Situated in the old Jewish area to which a vibrant Jewish presence has safely returned. There are great restaurants in the square where the hotel is situated. It's only a short tram ride away from the old town and is also close to the castle. Interesting museums and synagogues nearby and just across the river is Schindler's factory. A great place to stay in Krakow that is quieter than the old town and less bustling with tourists.

Poor
The location
we changed our room after one night to a double bedroom lounge and interior bathroom the bed was in the eves and even my 5ft 7 had to double over to get into bed once in the bed was Comfortable but getting up at night was hazardous the toilet and shower in both rooms we had were accessed via tiled steps despite putting towels on the steps I did slip and fall.
Also they advertise pet friendly however there were 2 dogs in one of the rooms so if anyone has allergies you should ask if rooms have been properly cleaned

All was fine, place, hotel not an issue.
Breakfast: we had all 3 days same breakfast without any modification. Would be good if they could change a bit the meal and not have all the days the same .

Breakfast. Too many items on table. Would prefer if just asked what we would like eg coffee, toast. Scrambled eggs.

Very interesting place, travels you back in time, you feel like you are living in a museum/ book store.
Lovely restaurant with matching music and excellent service.
Clean, super spacious, quiet.
It was a bit cold in the room, but ok sleeping with a blanket. To be fair though, I did not get the time to ask the personel if there was anything that they could do.

Disappointing
Repeat customer here over a few years so know exactly what to expect, which could be a little confusing for a first-timer. The warm and cosy feel somewhat lessening over time to the point that guests now seem to be an inconvenient add on to the serious business of religion that occurs in the place.
Rooms are becoming dirtier, less well maintained, more worn out facilities, staff cold and inhospitable, and breakfast of lesser quantity and quality and very variable during my week stay, and terrible coffee.
BE AWARE; This is not a hotel. It is a quasi-community centre guest rooms facility. There are NO FIRE EXIT ROUTES, no smoke alarms, no lighting or signage, no escape plan in rooms, and at night the ONLY exit door is locked shut with no key in it, you can't get out, there's NO EMERGENCY RELEASE so if there's a fire you're not getting out. Added to the quaint "piles of books" lining both sides of the corridors this place would and should be shut down as a guest residence on safety grounds. There's no welcome, no fridge or kettle, and rooms are scruffy.
Toilet was stuck on constant slow flush and took a few days to get resolved- the day it got fixed the hot water stopped working in my room (15) and tap and shower ran dry.
Loose metal framed bed felt like it was going to fall apart.
Only person staying most nights (sometimes one other person) but still they allocate rooms overlooking the noisiest street/tram stop/bus stop for intercity coaches with people smoking and shouting all night when there's rooms the quiet side free.
Breakfast went downhill as the week went on, 1 of the 2 fish dishes, 1 of the cheese plates, yoghurt, cake, tomato and pepper, all vanished from the breakfast offer as the week went on. The tables are pre-laid with breakfast before 7am so if you come down at 11 all the food has been in the open all morning. One day I was told "yoghurt is finished" yet the only other occupant of the hotel, clearly a more important religious guest had 2 yogurts on his solo table. Asked for management and suddenly 2 more were discovered, and I had to ask for the cake and eggs that morning as they were not offered. Note as well the small breakfast plates are not replaced for each guests, were added to whatever the previous guest left- hygiene?!?
Something has changed since previous stays here and I put my finger on what, there was a tension in the air and a coolness about the place.

Unique, for sure. Soooooooo nice service from people working in this great place :) Location is excellent, if you have lots of things to carry tram number 3 takes you almost to the doorstep from train station
