I don't think I have ever written a review for a hotel where I start it with 'I couldn't find anything I disliked about the hotel' but that is how the Hotel Columbus ranks. This hotel was brilliant and I would highly recommend it. The location is on the corner of the Jewish Quarter so perfect for food and drink and the excellent vibe of that area without being noisy or distracting. The staff all spoke excellent English and nothing was too much trouble (they even let me into the restaurant area on a night to make a cuppa (I am English after all lol). The hotel is on a main road with trams outside but the rooms are so quiet only the lightest of light sleepers would be disturbed.
The room was lovely, a decent size and super clean and fresh. The bed was a little hard for my personal tastes but it wasn't worn and the pillows were incredibly soft. The wifi was strong and worked well. The shower was hot and powerful and the room was cleaned to perfection. Breakfast was the usual Euro style breakfast, fruits, yoghurts, cold meats and cheeses plus hot sausages, bacon and eggs, along with juices and tea and coffee.
So location, cleanliness, helpful staff.
My only criticisim is no kettle in the room but I know this is a European thing and not unique to this hotel so I feeel tight saying this, but yes, I want a cuppa at the end of the day...

Clean and well presented. Good location. Lovely breakfast. Excellent value for money.
No air conditioning and room overlooked the street so too loud to leave windows open at night. Fridge had broken in the room.

The breakfast was adequate. The apartment was a little noisy at night because of the trams outside.
I asked for the breakfast boxes via email before I arrived to the hotel. This particular request wasn't replied to. We've been leaving the hotel at 4:30am and the breakfast boxes were not provided though the staying included breakfast payment.

Our party loved the stay at the Columbus and we’d be more than happy to stay there again in the future. We have of course stayed previously, hence is why we rebooked it. No complaints 5 star and many thanks. :-))
