We got there late, so front desk had night security and no other language than Polish.Room is very simple, not comfortable or nice. In the morning front desk lady gave us coffey, which was kind of her, though the coffey itself was more than terrible.
Never again will I go there, place rundown and nothing around

Pleasant
I loved the location. It's peaceful, it's near urban area so you can actually appreciate a good peaceful walk as if you're living there. Exactly near a supermarket. Exactly near a very good restaurant-fastfood-like which is EXCELLENT - and I'm from Greece I love good food when it's actually good, I genuinely did not expect that place to be that good so you can go there and have a meal. The prices in the supermarkets are very reasonable. If you have a car, hotel Krakow is an excellent choice. I went to hotel felix, both of them (Grand Hotel felix and hotel felix are near each other) which had VERY similar standards in the rooms and decoration and it's more expensive, you don't know where you should park, and behind the building there's always vehicles. Behind the old hotel felix there is a parking, which is on rough road though and much further from Grand Hotel felix. So Hotel Krakow wins at parking as it doesn't make it confusing which is like your first impression, and the standards of room cleanliness, decoration and facilities are VERY similar. Despite being "Grand Hotel" it doesn't win the title at all. It has low standards for a "Grand" hotel. (Just call it hotel with a different name to lower the expectations) Krakow wins in value for money and comfort in comparison to the other big local hotels is my point for me. It has some parking area outside the hotel but small. Like for 10 cars? Including like vans or vehicles from facilities that come for work for the hotel it's less than that. And very regularly you'll find to park EXACTLY near the door of the hotel. Which is very comfortable. If not, its very easy to find parking exactly on the opposite side of the road. Really easy to understand where to park. The employees are friendly and will try to help you. Parks are everywhere and green and buses are near.
Hotel closes doors after 11-12? And you have to ring the bell? And the reception has to hear you as well if you're going out to make sure she knows you're leaving and she's gonna have to let you in if you go out after 12 and you lets say come back at 3-4 or something, to make sure she hears you. Which felt like, weird. I have to tell to the receptionist now when I'll come back? Felt like I was talking to my mom like a child or that I'm making them uncomfortable by going out which made me uncomfortable.
I mean, at least one solution is to assign for each key a code which is auto-generated everytime or something. Electronic intercoms are EVERYWHERE in Poland. Met such a solution in Katowice at Holdek Ceglana. It's a much more smaller hotel. Yet invested in such a smart solution. You dont have to feel like you're talking to your mom everytime you're leaving at night or that people know when you come and go. I want my freedom and it feels weird when you take it away from me kind off or make me uncomfortable for trying to have it.
Found a spider in my room, made me doubt a bit about how really clean the rooms are. I didn't fear it, just a classic Daddy Longlegs which you find in houses usually. Harmless. But let that dude out in the nature.
The 3 bedroom apartment is the same with 2 bedroom just with one more bed and one less chair??? For more money? Okay ... ? Less comfort, more money.
Trash? Where to throw my trash? Asked the receptionist, which was a young girl in her 20's, probably the daughter of the owner? Im not sure, but she didn't know where to throw my trash. You shouldn't even have to ask those things. Poor girl was not at fault of course. Make it obvious where to throw the trash for your guests. Like the Hotel Ceglana had obvious bins where you were supposed to throw on separate bins the plastic, the glass and metal, etc.

Good
Near urban areas where you can see how people actually live. Which I appreciated
Near supermarkets
Near pharmacies
Near parks
Stuff was nice, not exceptional, like they did not do something more than needed, but nice, they did their job and nicely.
Apartment felt like a room where a local lives rather than a hotel room, which made me feel comfortable to be honest. It was cozy. I like knowing and living modestly and discovering how people live here more or less.
Window had a nice view of trees and green before you see any buildings
It had a desk where you can comfortably sit. Hotels usually put a small desk with an uncomfortable chair.
TV, didnt check if smart but it had one.
Parking was easy to find. Even exactly at the hotel.
It was simple overall as a hotel. Sometimes too simple.
Lights before I enter my room at night closed as I was on the room on the edge because the motion detector didnt see me. So I felt like a drunk trying to find the keyhole until I got used to it.
The girl that was at night at reception didnt know where to throw the garbage. It happens. I pity her she was very gentle. But its a minus. Training your staff on such basic stuff I think its a good thing. Not her fault. But a minus for the hotel not knowing how to dispose the garbage or at least not having the staff trained.
The door closes at night with a key, but the lady will come to open it for you (shes not at the lobby you depend on her hearing you). Stuff like that can be easily fixed with an electronic lock system where guests have a code to enter. Like, the whole neighborhood has it here, and I went to the whole neighborhood around. Everybody has an electronically lock except the hotel which absolutely needed one. Especially since I had to go out and then tell her when I will come back roughly and then ring the bell outside. Kinda weird for a hotel. Feels like Im going to a friend. But again she, the staff was exceptionally nice and understanding and did not have any other problem, other than when I will come back.
Reception is often not there, but 24/7 though so I dont expect a cheap hotel to be super strict. Just a little minus but its totally okay for me to be honest, since the staff was very nice
No fridge? In a hotel? Thats a first. I bought things from Supermarket nearby which needed refrigeration and didnt have a small refrigerator to put them in which every 2-3 star hotel has. But okay. Still didnt make my visit much more uncomfortable but if I wanted cold water I could not have one. I I wanted to store a beverage or food, nope.
No water brewing machine. Like thats very simple to miss and cheap to buy. Just to make a tea, coffee or something. That was a huge no for a hotel.

Pleasant
The reception area was tidy, modern and clean, making a good first impression. There was a lift, handy for our very heavy case. the rooms were a good size, and the shower worked well. The bed was comfortable, but inconveniently low. there was no aircon., but the windows could be made to open wide. I had booked the hotel with regard to price , but not to location. It was about 30 minutes to Krakow old town by tram and close to a supermarket and a few cafes. The reception were efficient and helpful in booking us a taxi to the airport,
The carpet in the room was a bit stained and the door and handle could have done with a clean. The weather was warm and windless so the room was at times uncomfortably warm . Breakfast was a disappointment: not very fresh food and poor bread. Good coffee.

There was no hand sanitizer in the bathroom. The room unfortunately also had some weird smell, and lack of sockets for charging devices in the bedroom.

Clean and well placed for the tram into the city centre. Nice area.
The rooms were great. However, tea / coffee making facilities in the rooms would have been an added bonus.

A nice cozy hotel, exactly what we were looking for. We spent three nights there and it was ideal. There's also a tram station and a grocery store nearby.
The room wasn't completely clean, we found a toenail on the floor. The walls are quite thin so you can hear a lot from other rooms. We heard crying children but it didn't really bother us (I imagine it could bother someone else though). I would have liked some hangers in the bathroom to hang a towel or clothes, and also a hairdryer would have been nice.

it was close to the place which we wanted to visit
smell of the room was very smoky. It was even not possible to ventilate this. Connected to ventillator system or carpet. Also problem with cleanliness.. Some hair on clean wedding and stains..
