I really enjoyed the friendly professional staff, location, and the food.
Unfortunately there was a strong odor in two of the rooms. One of the rooms had a chemical odor that was overpowering and too much for me. Thankfully we only booked the room for one night.
The gasoline fumes in the garage absolutely is a health hazard. I noticed that there were fans along the walls throughout the garage and none of them working.
If this was not an issue in the two rooms and parking garage I would have given a solid 9 rating.

View of the bay and rooms are well appointed
Not enough towels ( slippery stepping out of shower)
no toilet paper( had to ask), I reserved king bed, didn’t get king bed, and beds are very firm to the point of being uncomfortable ( I had to purchase a foam pad to lay on the bed)and lastly, the hot breakfast food was not hot . I asked for drip coffee and was told it was not plugged in and would take 30 minutes ?

Exceptional
The Sunlight Hotel was clean, spacious, and in a great location. Rooms were bright and clean. Everything was in walking distance- the boardwalk, a mall, shops, and a market. The staff were very friendly! Breakfast was delicious with so many different options. I will definitely stay here again.

The room was spacious and clean. The bathroom was beautiful. The hotel was comfortable overall. Breakfast OK. The gym was good for bodybuilders but not comfortable for a cardio workout so I ended up leaving.
This was the least comfortable bed I have slept on in all of Asia. The policy about outside alcohol felt punitive and restrictive. And, if you are going to INSIST on us buying beer from you it should be at market value.

Beer should be chilled and served at 3 deg cel
Make sure all your glasses are hygienically clean. Dirty beer glass will make the beer go flat.

One of the beers served in a beer glass went flat because the glass was not clean.

I would suggest all staff sit and watch the YouTube videos and practice how to complete the above items.
Some staff got confused over our simple bar orders.

I had a pleasant 2-night stay at the property. The staff were consistently courteous and helpful, which made the experience smooth and comfortable. The room size was generous and well-suited for both rest and getting some work done. The hotel's location is also convenient—easily accessible and close to key areas in the city.
A couple of areas for improvement would make future stays even better. The bed could be more comfortable; adding a mattress topper would go a long way. Additionally, enhancing the breakfast buffet with a few more options—like soup or a simple salad—would be appreciated, especially for guests staying more than one night.
Overall, I had a good experience. Thank you to the team for the hospitality.

Room service was immediate. Bathroom was huge and fully modern with freestanding tub, shower, toilet and sink. View of harbour. Room was made up every day and didn't need to ask. Breakfast satisfactory and service once again very prompt. Ample underground car parking. 2 laundries nearby. SM Mall and Bayfront restaurants in walking distance.
Beds were firm. Neighbourhood is downmarket. For hotel taxi pick-up you need to exit arrivals, turn right, walk to end, cross road, go past taxis to the very far side to be greeted by driver as they are not allowed in the arrivals area or even outside.

Loved the location and the seaside view from our room (Room H26). The location was fantastic. Easy for pick ups and drop offs when going on tours like island hopping. Really convenient and sweet staff/workers too. Breakfast was great as well!
The water temperature could have been hotter, especially for shower and bathing in the tub. The staff needs ensure to double check & communicate hotel package prices effectively to avoid guests paying more than expected.
Requests for new towels and toilet paper would take long to fulfill, sometimes having to call the front desk twice for casual reminders.
