Good
Hotel has a lot of potential but lacks some finishing touches. The water park next door is great for families.
Spa quality of treatment was great
Shows in the evenings were very nice
Rooms are spacious
Organized excursions from the hotel
Value for money if ok
The resort is not meticulously maintained, beach is not very clean. Same goes for the gardens.
Most staff members are extremely polite and professional. But unfortunately some gives you the feeling that they don’t want to converse and help behind giving you a paper and say “all details are here”.
The buffet is overall good but a lot of times some of the dishes ran out and were not replenished for a very long time.
The entertainment area for kids is very limited and focused on video games and board games. It’s in a small room with poor AC
We had issues with hot water but it was fixed very quickly.
Location far from the city and airport so you’re limited to the hotel area.
The hotel wasn’t pro active in organizing transport and didnt answer us when we were trying to get help

Disappointing
We liked our activities outside of the hotel, because staying in wasn't so nice. Port Barton snorkeling was good indeed. Room service and housekeeping work OK.
We didn't enjoy ourselves at Astoria Palawan. There is not a hint of luxury and relaxation that could be expected from a nice hotel. Overcrowded like a hostel, with staff struggling to clean tables fast enough (and failing), concierge that takes hours to days to text you back, unattractive beach, NOISY and generally uncomfortable, this hotel was the worst disappointment of our trip. The relative position of most bungalows is awful in terms of both privacy and view: even if you book an expensive room at the beach, the only thing you'll be seeing will be your black-out curtains, which you'll have to keep shut at all times, so that passers-by wouldn't be staring at you from the outside. How hard is it to use tinted glass in the 21-st century???
The massage wasn't good either: the room is small, like a cheap salon, and after the masseuse was done with by body and went on to do my head, she just wiped all of the oil from her hands to my freshly-washed hair. When I saw it in the mirror I was shocked and disgusted.
Upgrading our shabby deluxe twin room with loud music from outside to 1-bedroom suite at the Nest made it bearable (yet still noisy), but you don't want "bearable" for 140000 PHP. You want good. And you won't get it at this hotel.

Poor
This swimming pool
1-The beach is really dirty. There is dogs everywhere and dog waste. I couldn’t swim.
2-food options are limited not tasty and over expensive to what they are offering all oily tasteless food. They know that you don’t have restaurant next to you. This is why they serve bad food with high prices because they know that you don’t have options.

Wonderful
Fully equipped resort with all the bells and whistles. It is extremely family oriented, so if you are looking for a romantic couple's getaway this may not be what you had in mind. Nevertheless, the food is great, staff are very welcoming and knowledgable, and the resort does it's very best to ensure you have a pleasant stay.
Difficult to find the pool towels at the various pools on the property.

Fair
There is no proper coordination of the staff, the front office in The Nest category check in are not attentive to their guests I have to follow up my requests.
When we arrived i have mentioned that I requested ahead of time the connecting room as were family and we have kids and senior, however Ervin keep answering me that next to each other room requested is given. ( i don’t know if he is aware the connecting/adjacent room and next to each other room is indeed different).
I understand that its not guarantee as there are maybe guest checked in. So the next day requested again as I realize that the adjacent to our room is available. I spoke with few front desk officer (The Nest) and explained again :( . The guy said he needs to check with Ervin who has checked in my 3 rooms or in reservation dept i told him you can allocate the room thats not the reservation responsibility ( i don’t understand why he cant do it and check again to other colleague?? When the room is clearly available.
So I waited Ervin to call me and he did and said I haven’t requested that and the next to each other room are given. Oh God!
Lot of talks happened which make me disappointed.
Why to make your guests run here and there and get annoyed before you guys actioned. When the solution is very easy and you make it hassle for us.
This is our first time in Astoria Palawan and sadly our last.

Very Poor
Property itself is nice
The people who work here are useless. They don't coordinate each other. Eveyone have their own topic. Bad management. Someone advice me to add another night since my sister flight is late night. So I paid the whole night. But then they out early. Becauee they dissapointed with the people here. One front desk ask my sister for additional breakfast for my nephew which is they not gonna be there till morning. So stupid. Thise hotel is only money maker. They will think about how they gonna charge you. So they didn't get two days breakfast buffet. We asked if they can replace it to dinner instead. Atlest before they go to the airport. What they gave is a piece of sandwich that only foreigner can eat. These are Filipino family with 12yrs old kid. They didn't even prepare a greating for my sister. I sent her there to celebrate her bday. So I guess only foreigner are welcome to celebrate theie bday there.
