This hotel has it all- charm, elegance, old world meets new, great breakfasts and top tier staff. Location is perfect distance to restaurants and the Plaza de Armas. I truly cannot say enough good about this hotel and staff, if I ever find myself in Arequipa again, there is no question where I will stay.

The service
It’s a very beautiful old house, but the rooms are in a building that seems stuck in the 1990s. They’re not renovated at all, making you feel like you’re in an old hotel. For this reason, it’s not worth the price for a hotel with these characteristics. The rooms and bathrooms were outdated. The photo makes them look better than they are.

The courtyard with the metal trees.
Oscar, one of the breakfast waiters, was keen for us to try all of the Peruvian goodies on the elaborate breakfast buffet. These goodies ranged from tuno (red prickly pear) to raw honey from the comb. My favourite was the adobo (slow cooked pork belly with a spicy and tangy adobo sauce.)
One of the bedrooms was dark with a window that looked onto an inner courtyard, The other one was noisy from a constantly refilling water system.
The staff enquired who we were every time that we returned to the hotel.

We liked the location, five minutes from the Plaza de Armas. And also the common areas of the hotel, like the spanish courtyard, typical in such a historical building.
We didn't like our room. It belonged to a building attached to the main house, and surprisingly with a very rare design: without views (window facing an internal patio), old fashioned furniture, weekly iluminated... The overall experience was not worth the price we paid.
