the price of their rooms are cheaper than the other motels. That is the only positive I could say. But it shouldn't ended up with up, because their customer service is 2 out 10 for me.
they stated through emails that check in time is 2:00 pm but when we get there to put our stuffs, all the rooms were not all yet ready,. my partner, me and my son have waited less than an hour before we can get into the rooms. We've asked the housekeeper many times ''Are you finish cleaning'' they replied, a little bit more.
Also, they charged our credit card without our consent worth $102.00. And when I rang them as them why, the guy on the phone replied, there were missing a clothes iron in Room 2. I told him, they should send us a message before they have charge our card without consent. And then he told me to rang them back on the next day (Tuesday) because the Manager of the motel isn't there. So I emailed them but no reply at all. I rang today, the lady I have talked from the reception desks said, she will rang me back, I hope so, but as of this time, nobody rang be back. It was so disappointing to experienced such kind of service. We always have a basketball tournament around Wellington, but definitely will never stay in this motel anymore, nor recommend them to all my friends and family. What made me angry is that they just charged our card without explaining to us the reasons why??? Who will be happy with that ?

I stayed in a row of newly built 2 level suites. My room had been designed for disabled customers and included a bathroom accessible by wheelchair, with a fold away shower chair attached to the wall, low kitchen access, and a unit with a Tv and sliding luggage rack that was able to be accessed and put away at floor level.
I stay in motels every 2–3 months and this is the first time in many years that I have felt compelled to leave a negative review.
There were no staff available at reception on arrival. Another guest was trying to contact someone because she had found dirty towels in her bathroom on arrival. As a guest with mobility issues using a rollator walker, I struggled to access my unit due to a bench and pillar creating a very narrow entrance, and there was nobody available to assist. Pictures are included for context.
While the unit appeared updated, cleanliness was disappointing. There were stains and splatters on carpets, walls, switches and surfaces, dirt in floor corners, and visible debris on the bathroom floor. I also noted there was no mattress protector fitted to the bed.
Accessibility remained an issue on departure when the cleaner's trolley and equipment blocked the pathway, making it difficult to exit safely with my mobility aid. I had to wait over 5 minutes for her to return and move it.
Noise insulation was poor. I was woken multiple times during the night whenever guests in the unit above flushed their toilet, and normal activity from neighbouring rooms could also be clearly heard.
The Wi-Fi was extremely unreliable and not suitable for streaming. I ended up purchasing mobile data to watch movies, and the TV did not support casting or provide additional entertainment options.
I was unaware when booking that this property was formerly the Dupont. Had I realised, I would have chosen alternative accommodation due to a previous poor experience at the property.
I have included photographs showing the accessibility issues and cleanliness concerns observed during my stay.
Overall, the lack of staff availability, cleanliness concerns, accessibility issues, poor soundproofing and unreliable Wi-Fi significantly impacted my stay.

Cheaper price compare to other motels around Wellington
I have booked 5 rooms in total, 3 rooms through booking.com and 1 over the phone plus another 1 through booking.com. It says, check in time 2pm but when we get there at 2pm to check if all the rooms were all not yet ready to occupy, , the housekeeping, still not finish with the cleaning. So we have to wait for an hour or so outside until they finish their cleaning.
Then the next day, after we'd checked out, the Avana Suites motel charged our credit card worth $100.02 without our consent. They didnt even send us an email, what was the charge for. I have rang their service desks and he checked it on their records, and found out there was a missing clothes iron from one of the rooms that we have booked. I booked the 5 motel rooms for our overnight stay because we had a basketball tournament going on in Lower Hutt. Our team who've stayed at room 2 they just literally stay there to sleep and check out at 9am in the morning for our tournament. None of them saw, touch, or used any clothes iron. It was so embarrassing, accusing our Team for taking home a clothes iron. That was the worst motel experienced we've ever had so far. I cannot recommend this motel to all my friends because of that experienced. The motel should investigate first, before they've charged someone else without even telling them. That was so disappointing..
Also, the service desks are quite rude whenever on the phone. I've rang the day before to add additional 1 room, the lady on the phone was so grumpy and suddenly just hang up the phone without explaining in a well manner, . not reliable for a customer service job to be honest.
Never ever I will booked a room to this motels...

The price was good. $595.63 for 3 nights.
The staff were honest, our stuff wasn't gone through.
Carpet was fairly new.
Our first room wasn't cleaned or ready. The second room had a dirty towel left behind the door, the base of the shower was dirty, there were no tea towels to dry dishes, or a cloth to clean the table, the shower vent fan grill is completely clogged it is struggling to vent the bathroom, the shower isn't draining properly, there was 1 coffee mug between 4 people, the food menu in the folder is extremely out dated, the phone number for Neptune Fish shop is wrong and Neptune Fish shop is now Marina Fisheries. The parking was limited beside the unit. WiFi was very poor, windowsill in bathroom was layered in dust.

Clean and comfortable and heat pump.
No coat hangers, cleaner gave us lots of shampoo refills instead of bodywash and could've done with a spare blanket, as was really cold so had to sleep with the heat pump on...which was a saviour.
